The singer will be honored with the 2,475th star on August 10 – in front of the Capitol Records Building.

Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler has parted ways with theAmerican Idol producers by revealing the TV talent show wasn’t all fun.
The Love in an Elevator singer quit the show after two seasons earlier this month – a day before fellow judge Jennifer Lopez followed him out the door – and he is now admitting he only agreed to sit alongside J.Lo and Randy Jackson for the cash, and to give his bandmates the chance to calm down after he announced plans for a hiatus.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “It was something to do while the storm blew by, to be honest… not my cup of tea.
“I loved it and hated it. It was a great job, I sat next to J.Lo and I made a ton of money. It was a moment in life and it became larger than life.”
But Tyler admits he didn’t like the workload – or the prompting to be meaner, like Simon Cowell, the judge he replaced: “It was just hard work – seven-hour days and then I went and did the (Aerosmith) album for eight hours after that.
“The show’s about kids and what you do to nurture their talent. They wanted me to take the p**s out of (mock) the kids and I don’t have that in me. That’s not what I’m about. That’s more about that other guy (Cowell). Not me.”
Rocker Bret Michaels has called off his engagement to the woman who nursed him through a series of medical emergencies in 2010.
Kristi Gibson, the Poison star’s longtime girlfriend and the mother of Michaels’ two daughters, has split from the rock star, ending a 16-year romance.
The 49-year-old singer asked Gibson to be his wife in December, 2010 as part of the finale of his VH1 reality showBret Michaels: Life As I Know It.
A spokesman for Michaels says, “Although the couple have separated, they remain great friends and are committed to jointly raising their two daughters, Raine and Jorja.”
Sheryl Crow has filed for a restraining order against a fan who has allegedly threatened her life.
The rocker claims Phillip Gordon Sparks believes she stole money from him and now is threatening to harm her in a series of angry online posts.
In papers filed in Los Angeles and obtained by TMZ.com, Crow states, “It was clear to me that (Sparks) was deeply disturbed because his posts were delusional, rambling, filled with profanity and laced with angry rants… (He claimed) I had broken into his house because I was looking for his gun.
“Other posts claimed that I was supposedly filming him surreptitiously, tried to have him arrested and that I had stolen money from him… All of these allegations are, of course, categorically false.”
The papers also allege Sparks claims to have told an official at the Screen Actors Guild that he was going to shoot her last week.
Crow says the news was “extremely alarming”, and she now fears for the safety of her family and employees.
Kristen Stewart‘s Welcome to the Riley’s producer, Giovanni Agnelli, has jumped to the defense of his former leading lady amid the fallout following her cheating confessions.
The Twilight star stunned fans and Hollywood insiders last week when she revealed a tabloid story about a fling with director Rupert Sanders was true.
It now appears her romance with Robert Pattinson is over after removal vans were spotted outside the Los Angeles home the couple shares – and his fans have turned on Stewart.
But Agnelli feels the vitriol aimed at his young friend is over the top, insisting there’s no way she slept with married Sanders, as has been suggested by some media outlets.
In a series of tweets on Monday, the producer rants, “I’ll say right now what the manipulative media isn’t saying… Kristen Stewart did not have any type of sex with Rupert Sanders… The spin that keeps growing on this story is staggering. There was NO on set affair. Stop printing LIES.
“If one of your friends in real life was hurting, and lots of people were being cruel. Wouldn’t you ask them to please stop? Honestly?”
And, taking aim at Twilight fans who have dubbed Stewart a ‘Trampire’ following her indiscretion, he adds, “If you’ve ever used the word Trampire you’re a mindless pathetic piece of [expletive].”
Agnelli also took a moment to thank fans who have pledged their support to Stewart, revealing she has seen a “twitition” and “support video” and adding, “Thank you.”
The drama began when shots of Stewart and Sanders kissing featured on the cover and inside last week’s Us Weeklymagazine.

Michael Jackson‘s mother has agreed to share guardianship of the King of Pop’s three children with their cousin TJ Jackson, after she was temporarily stripped of the responsibility on Wednesday.
A Los Angeles judge suspended Katherine Jackson as the prime caregiver of her grandkids Prince, Paris and Blanket, and appointed Tito Jackson’s son as their temporary guardian amidst a family feud, which began when the matriarch was reported missing last weekend.
The 82-year-old returned to the Calabasas, California home she shares with the youngsters on Thursday after a 10-day “vacation” at an Arizona resort, and she vowed to fight the court ruling to have her reinstated as guardian.
However, Katherine has since had a change of heart and on Friday, it was revealed that she had reached a deal with 34-year-old TJ to share guardianship at the request of teenager Prince and his siblings. A joint proposal, which will see TJ deal with administrative details, will be filed in court next week.
A statement released by Katherine’s attorney Perry Sanders reads: “Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael’s children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael’s children.
“She is eager to simply enjoy her great relationship with these children, while deeding over some of the stressors that go hand in hand with being a guardian.”
Meanwhile, Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff has ordered an independent investigation into the three children’s welfare to see how they are dealing with the family drama.
The report will include private interviews with each of the kids and will only be reviewed by the judge.
