The Simpsons’ Bosses Will Kill Off Major Character

A major character in hit animated TV comedy The Simpsons will be killed off to mark the show’s 25th year.

The cartoon, which launched in 1989, began its 25th season on Sunday and producers have teased fans by revealing a main character will meet with a tragic end.

The writers have refused to identify which big-name role will be axed, but executive producer Al Jean tells Sunnewsnetwork.ca, “I’ll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won’t say who it is.”

Guest stars appearing in the new season include Hollywood stars Zach Galifianakis, Elisabeth Moss, and Kristen Wiig, and bosses also have a big treat in store for viewers – the final episode will be a cross-over with fellow cartoon Futurama.
