Amanda Bynes Denied Request To Leave Psychiatric Hold

(MTV)—After appearing before a judge on Thursday, Amanda Bynes has been denied the right to leave psychiatric hold, according to a new report.

Bynes’ attorney argued that there is no legal basis for the 27-year-old to remain in the hospital because she is not a danger to others and is able to take care of herself, sources close to the situation confirmed to TMZ. During the meeting with the judge, held at the psychiatric facility where she is currently staying, the judge decided that Bynes should stay there.

Bynes was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward in California last week after she set a small fire in a stranger’s driveway. Bynes was not arrested in the case, later it was reported she is not expected to be charged. But, after initially being placed on a 5150 hold on July 23, it was extended to an additional two weeks on July 26. Read more>>

Amanda Bynes Spoken To By Cops Again

Troubled actress Amanda Bynes had another brush with the law on Sunday when she was accused of trespassing at an old people’s home in California.

The actress was spoken to by police officers after staff at the facility in Thousand Oaks dialled 911 when she turned up drunk outside the building.

According to editors at TMZ.com, staff called her a cab but eventually contacted cops when they saw the Hairspray star walking back towards the property.

It is not known if Bynes was merely advised by officers to leave the area or given a ticket for trespassing.

The incident is the latest in a string of woes for the actress – she is facing a charge of driving under the influence after allegedly crashing her car into a police vehicle last year, and a further accusation of driving on a suspended licence several months later. She is also accused of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and possessing marijuana after reportedly throwing a bong out of her apartment window during a police raid in May.

Amanda Bynes Blames Behavior On “Webbing In Between My Eyes”

Webbing between the eyes is the explanation to all of Amanda Bynes’ bizarre behavior. In a lengthy Twitter explanation, Bynes’ blames all of her recent troubles – which include an arrest for drug possession, tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment – on an “embarrassing” birth defect.

“I was born with a webbing in between my eyes. That was a birth defect that I had surgically removed! I’ve never been more excited!” she shared Wednesday night.

“I consider myself to be a hero to have suffered 27 years with a birth defect and to just now have it surgically removed! I had to share my story with you so the media would stop using old photos of me and stop writing lies about me having odd behavior when I was just embarrassed to share the fact that I had a birth defect,” she explained.

“I wanted to share my story with you to prove that I’m not crazy, I was just embarrassed. Surgery is a complete miracle for me – nothing can hold you back from living out your dreams. There’s a surgery for everything that’s wrong with you!” continued Bynes.

Bynes, 27, said she still requires more surgeries to make everything perfect. “Now I need a few more surgeries to shave the bridge down to correct the rest of my nose so I can start the next chapter of my career! Music!” she wrote.

Bynes is perhaps best known for starring on the Nickelodeon shows “All That” and “The Amanda Show.” Her film credits include “What a Girl Wants,” “She’s The Man,” “Hairspray” and “Easy A.”

Amanda Bynes Back-Pedals After Rant on Miley Cyrus

Embattled actress Amanda Bynes is trying to make amends with singer Miley Cyrus after branding the singer/actress “ugly” in an angry online rant.

The Party in the U.S.A. hitmaker became the latest target of Bynes’ Twitter attacks this week, joining the likes of Rihanna and Courtney Love, but Cyrus refused to engage in a war of words and simply brushed off the cruel tweet.

Commenting on her fellow former child star’s odd behavior, which includes wandering around New York with shirts covering her face, Cyrus said, “I think it’s all so sad and I don’t want to add any fuel to that fire. It’s so sad to me. I was rooting for her comeback until she started attacking me…”

However, the Hairspray star, who recently confessed to the first of several planned nose jobs, has since retracted her “ugly” taunt and now claims she is aspiring to have her features look more like Cyrus’.

Reaching out to the 20-year old on Twitter, Bynes writes, “Miley Cyrus thank you for rooting for me doll! You are one of the prettiest girls! I want my nose to look like yours after my surgeries!”

Miley Cyrus Responds To Amanda Bynes’ “Sad” Twitter Attack

Amanda Bynes’ Twitter meltdown continued Wednesday with her attacking singer Miley Cyrus for no apparent reason. The troubled actress tweeted a picture of Cyrus and wrote, “Ur Ugly.”

Cyrus, 20, responded to the insult during an interview with Hot 95.5. “I think it’s all so sad and I don’t want to add any fuel to that fire. It’s really so sad to me. I was rooting for her comeback until [she] started attacking me,” she said.

“I just thought it was hilarious that she mentioned my name the moment I was the worldwide trending topic on Twitter,” added Cyrus. “It’s just funny the moment you’re a trending topic how many people want your name to come out of their mouth, so somehow they can associate and maybe they can become a trending topic.”

Bynes’ hatred may have something to do with the fact that she believes Cyrus’ fiancé Liam Hemsworth “is the most gorgeous man on the face of the earth.”

The 25-year-old exhibited bizarre behavior in the weeks leading up to her May 23rd arrest for marijuana possession, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence. The former child star was taken into custody after apartment personnel caught her smoking in the lobby. Bynes reportedly threw a bong out of her 36th floor window when police officers arrived. She was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation before being booked at a nearby police station.

Drake Bell: ‘Amanda Bynes Is Fine And Healthy’

Actor Drake Bell has defended his pal Amanda Bynes amid growing concerns for her mental state, insisting the actress is “good” and “healthy”.

The Hairspray star has hit headlines for all the wrong reasons of late, following a string of driving incidents, months of bizarre behaviour in public, her recent arrest for drug charges and her outbursts on Twitter.com, taking aim at celebrities including

Rihanna, Courtney Love and former friend Lance Bass.

However, Bell, who co-starred with Bynes on her Nickelodeon programme The Amanda Show from 1999, claims there is no cause for concern.

He tells America’s OK! magazine, “Amanda and I are close… I talk to her every day. She’s a sweetheart. I had lunch with her yesterday, and she’s brilliant. She’s good, and she’s healthy… She’s in a place right now where she is searching. She’s ready to be her own person, and do her own thing… She is a girl who is finding herself.

“I’m like, ‘Dude, you come off crazy.’ She’s like, ‘I know, but I don’t mean to. I just changed the way I look’.

“Anytime I’ve ever been with Amanda, she’s totally coherent, totally there, totally everything.”

Amanda Bynes DUI Lawyer: Reports Are Way Exaggerated, Amanda’s Fine

Amanda Bynes’ DUI lawyer has come to her defense in the wake of her drug related arrest in New York City. Richard Hutton tells People magazine that the 27-year-old is a “fine client.” Hutton represents Bynes in her DUI trouble in Los Angeles, but he is not involved in her NYC case.

“I think [reports] are way exaggerated,” he said. “I think Amanda’s fine. I have no problems with her whatsoever. She’s a fine client.”

Hutton also says that he believes NYC authorities don’t have “much of a case” against the actress. “Even if you believe everything you hear, it’s something that amounts to virtually nothing. And it’s my understanding there’s not much evidence to back that case up. There’s no physical evidence to back it up. I understand there’s no marijuana, no pipe,” he said.

Bynes was arrested last Thursday at her Manhattan apartment after building personnel witnessed her smoking marijuana in the lobby. When police arrived, Bynes allegedly threw a bong out a window in her 36th floor unit. She was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after her arrest. Bynes was later booked for marijuana possession, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence.

Bynes’s DUI trouble stems from an April 6, 2012 arrest in West Hollywood. She was taken into custody after she crashed into a police car and then refused a breathalyzer test. The next hearing is set for July 18.

Amanda Bynes Issues Tweet Threat to NYPD, Apartment Building Bosses

Actress Amanda Bynes has threatened to sue New York Police Department (NYPD) officials and staff at her Manhattan apartment complex following her marijuana possession arrest last week in a new Twitter.com rant.

Maintaining she’s “proud to not be a drug or alcohol user” the Hairspray star has issued a rambling new tweet, which she promises will be the “last thing I’ll say about the mistaken arrest”.

She then rages, “I’m suing NYPD for illegally entering my apartment, lying about drugs on me and lying about me tampering with non existent drug paraphernalia, then I’m suing for being put into a mental hospital against my will, then locked up overnight for coming home after a facial and working out with my trainer like the good girl that I am.”

She adds, “I’m allergic to alcohol and drugs and don’t partake in any of the above. I’m so offended by all of this but so proud to not be a drug or alcohol user. I don’t need to talk about this anymore. My lawyer and I are taking this offense so seriously! Everything they did was against the law.

“I was so offended to even be taken to a mental hospital and they would not let me call my lawyer until the next day after being in jail all night, then I went to court and was immediately released because the judge saw that I was wrongly arrested.

“The cops found no proof of any type of drug use or evidence of drug paraphernalia such as a bong in or around my apartment.

“I’m also suing my apartment complex for lying about me smoking in my building. I’m free forever! You can’t lock up an innocent person!”

And Bynes concludes her latest missive by writing, “Look forward to seeing me in music videos! I’m getting in shape and getting a nose job! I’m looking forward to a long and wonderful career as a singer/rapper!”

Police claim they raided the actress’ apartment on Thursday night after responding to a report that she was smoking pot in the building’s lobby. They claim Bynes threw a bong out of her window as they arrived. She was later taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and charged with marijuana possession, tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment.
