Anne Hathaway Hosts Saturday Night Live

Anne Hathaway donned a blonde wig to poke fun at Homelandstar Claire Danes in a Saturday Night Live skit and resurrected her Katie Holmes impression for the show.

The Devil Wears Prada actress took the reins of the famed TV comedy on Saturday night for her third stint as host, and her first target was Danes in her award-winning portrayal of bipolar CIA agent Carrie Mathison.

Hathaway feigned a tearful meltdown and a kiss with a detainee in an interview room in a parody of the popular TV drama, before moving on to make fun of newly-single actress Holmes.

The star previously impersonated Holmes on her first stint on SNL and she dressed up as the former Dawson’s Creek star again to present a spoof interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

SNL regular Kate McKinnon played DeGeneres during the routine, and her portrayal won high praise from the talk show host herself, who told fans on Twitter that the skit left in her hysterics when she watched it with her wife Portia de Rossi.

In a post on the social networking website, she writes, “Portia and I just laughed so hard at the spoof of my show on SNL. I love when Kate plays me.”

Dark Knight Rises’ Cast Speaks Out On Aurora Shooting

The cast of “The Dark Knight Rises” have lent their voices to the growing list of public figures speaking out against the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado. Leading actors Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway have both released official statements condemning the violence, which took place during a showing of their new film.

“Words cannot express the horror that I feel,” said Bale in a statement. “I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”

Hathaway echoed Christian’s sentiments in her own statement, saying:

“My heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomably senseless act. I am at a loss for words how to express my sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” she said.

Director Christopher Nolan also shared his thoughts:

“Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community,” he said. “The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me,” he added.

The Mac Wire Spotlight: Rebecca Bruder Hits The Mark

In New York, where the competitive actor professional seems more intense with each passing day, every so often a new face comes along that feels like a perfect fit. REBECCA BRUDER, hailing from Clearwater, Florida, is one such case. Growing up in Georgia, her inner actress was revealed and she began to study acting, voice, movement and dance. She even gained a BFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina. In 2006, Rebecca travelled to Scotland as a participant in the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival. She performed in the satirical comedy and Tony Award winning musical, Urinetown, which was being staged there. She humbly describes the entire experience as a pivotal moment in which she truly learned to embrace her quirky, goofy self and gain trust in her own quiet assurance. With performances under her belt such as The Tempest, Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Evil Dead; the Musical, it is clear that her available range of character portrayal is expansive. Rebecca exposes a little giggle as she describes her time in Evil Dead. “I rolled around on the floor soaked in fake blood and it was in that moment I completely lost all of my inhibitions!” Her broad experience also extends into the quirky independent film world. Never taking herself too seriously and a major admirer of offbeat Wes Anderson productions, Rebecca hopes to flex her comedic side by taking on intelligent humor in Film and Television. She fantasizes of working with the likes of Gene Hackman and Meryl Streep but admittedly has intently followed Anne Hathaway’s career with great admiration and respect. Having aligned herself with noted theatrical manager William Schill, several significant opportunities await her in film, stage and TV. Adds Schill, “She’s a captivating individual; just what’s needed in many of the NY-TV shows being shot here right now, like ‘Blue Bloods’ and ‘Person Of Interest.’ She has exactly what these shows are looking for. A formidable presence.”

Remember the name, Rebecca Bruder; you’ll see it in lights shortly.

Anne Hathaway Signs On For Les Miserables

Anne Hathaway has ended months of speculation by signing on to play Fantine in director Tom Hooper’s movie adaptation of Les Miserables.
The film’s star, Hugh Jackman, recently revealed he was trying to persuade Hathaway to take on the role of the prostitute in the retelling of Victor Hugo’s classic story, and it seems his efforts have paid off.
The actress reportedly fought off competition from Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall to land the singing role.
Hathaway will join Jackman, Russell Crowe and Helena Bonham Carter in Hooper’s ambitious new film.
