Jim Carrey has reportedly signed on to appear as Colonel Stars in the upcoming sequel to director Jeff Wadlow and creator Mark Millar’s 2010 comedy “Kick Ass.” Thus far there has been no official word from Carrey, but Wadlow dropped the hint in a recent tweet.
The director wrote: “6 days till we start shooting . . . and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then! @ChloeGMoretz @MintzPlasse @donald_faison #kickass2. (sic)”
The sequel will bring back original cast members Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage. Carrey’s character will reportedly help bring the rag tag team of superheroes into a unified fighting force. Mintz-Plasse also hit twitter to fan the flame:
“Clue – he lives with 200 raccoons and parrots, owns the mask of Loki and named by spielberg as a genius. (sic),” he wrote referencing Carrey’s roles in “Ace Venture: Pet Detective” and “The Mask.”
