Lady Gaga to Perform on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2012 on ABC

Lady Gaga knows what she’s doing this New Year’s Eve.  ABC announced Thursday that she’ll be performing live in New York’s Times Square during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.   Last New Year’s Eve, Lady Gaga marked the occasion by announcing the title of her album Born This Way and its release date, so it’ll be an anniversary of sorts for the record, which has gone on to produce a string of hits and sell over five million copies worldwide.
This year’s installment of the show will mark its 40th anniversary, and the festivities will begin at 8 p.m. ET on December 31 with a two-hour special called New Year’s Rockin’ Eve: The 40th Anniversary Party.  It’ll look back at four decades of the show’s greatest moments, and most memorable performances.  Then, Rockin’ Eve will begin at 10 p.m. with Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark, and a slew of yet-to-be-named music stars from New York City, while Fergie will return to host the L.A.-based portion of the event.
