Michael Jackson used to call Donny Osmond and quiz him about his home life in an effort to learn the key to balancing his family and his career.
The Puppy Love hitmaker reveals the King of Pop would confide in him about his struggles with fame and would regularly ask for advice.
Osmond tells the New York Daily News, “I’ve been in show business for 50 years, and the secret is stability, and that is home. What my wife, Debbie Osmond, has created at home gives me a foundation so that I can go back out in this crazy world…
“Michael Jackson would call me once in a while and ask me, ‘How do you live your home life?’ Michael would always say, ‘What’s your home life like?’ He never had that kind of stability.
“He tried. I knew Mike so well, and I would go over to his house. It was all about gold records, it was all about accolades.
“You walk into my home, you wouldn’t find a gold record on the wall. You would find pictures of my kids, pictures of the grandkids. That is what home is all about. If you can keep your perspective there, your feet stay on the ground.”
Osmond pays tribute to the late superstar nightly during his Las Vegas residency with his sister Marie.
Jackson died in 2009.
Veteran entertainer Donny Osmond is aiming to return to the Las Vegas stage in September of 2013 after a torn buttock muscle forced him to sit out a series of joint shows with his sister Marie.
The pop star was performing with his sibling at the Flamingo hotel and casino last July when he leaped on a piano and aggravated an existing injury.
The 55 year old underwent surgery to repair his gluteus maximus, and he has since been resting up while Marie continues to honour their gigs, with their brother Merrill stepping as a temporary replacement.
Osmond has now opened up about the injury in a post on his official website, revealing he is working hard on his recovery and is hoping to be back on stage by September.
He writes, “I recently underwent a fairly routine but a fairly invasive surgery which is requiring a lot of rehab, recovery time and that I stay off my feet. Today, I’m happy to report that I’m doing much better, and will return to Las Vegas on September 3.
“Because of the nature of the injury, there will be some changes made to the show in Vegas. But, if there is one mantra I’ve lived with throughout my life, it’s that ‘the show must go on!’ And, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. And, hey… why not throw in a few new elements to the Donny & Marie Show.”
Ever since she hosted her variety show with brotherDonny, Marie Osmond has been associated with traditional American values. Now the former Dancing with the Stars contestant, 53, is speaking out in favor of marriage equality. In the clip below, the singer voices support for the right of people like her daughter Jessica, who is gay, to marry whomever they choose. Read more>>

The Puppy Love hitmaker welcomed his fifth grandchild last month (Jan13), when his son Donald, Jr. and his wife Jessica became first-time parents to a son named Truman Clark.
And now he’s revealed the Osmonds are expecting another new addition to their growing brood.
The proud singer showed off a photo of the newborn during an appearance on chat show The Talk, which aired on Friday (Feb 22), and announced, “Since that baby was born, my son Jeremy and his wife announced that they’re gonna have their third baby so number six is on the way!”
Veteran pop star Donny Osmond has given Scottish singer Susan Boyle a big boost by joining her for two songs on her new album of theater musical standards.
The Puppy Love hitmaker reveals he met Boyle while on a promotional tour of the U.K. last summer and they decided to hit the recording studio together to see what they could come up with.
Their covers of All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera and This Is The Moment from Jekyll & Hyde will feature onStanding Ovation: The Greatest Songs From the Stage, which is due for release in November.
Announcing the news in a series of Twitter.com posts on Thursday, Osmond writes, “Yes it’s true. I’m singing two songs with Susan Boyle on her new album that’s coming out very soon. Donny And Susan”.
And Boyle reveals she was overjoyed to team up with her childhood pop idol.
Commenting on the duets in a message on her website, she writes, “Who would have thought that I would have been singing a duet with my hero Donny Osmond. I grew up with the Osmonds – especially Donny. I was thrilled… He was awesome.”

Hallmark Channel is in negotiations with Marie Osmond to launch a show on its daytime lineup, a network spokesperson confirmed Thursday.
The channel said Osmond would host a lifestyle show, though it had no further details about the proposed format. She currently appears in a Las Vegas variety show with her brother Donny Osmond.
The news follows reports earlier this month that Hallmark would not renew daytime talker The Martha Stewart Show, with new episodes set to end in May and repeats running through the summer. That would leave a spot for Osmond’s show to join the lineup in the fall, though the network spokesperson said the fall schedule has not yet been determined.
Hallmark also said it is still in discussions with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia about the company’s other programs on the channel, Emeril’s Table and Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn.
The Martha Stewart Show debuted on Hallmark in September 2010 after years in broadcast syndication. The show’s production expense and middling ratings were said to be a factor in the network’s decision to seek other daytime programming options.
Marie Osmond was briefly hospitalized Wednesday night following a performance with her brother Donny Osmond at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel. The 52-year-old is said to have sounded horse during the performance. She later complained of feeling tightness in her lungs.
Osmond was diagnosed with bronchitis and released from the hospital later Wednesday night. “So the allergies went into a bronchitis. Didn’t realize it until I went to hit the high notes last night on stage. Pie Jesu was kinda P-U,” the former Dancing with the Stars contestant tweeted Thursday.
The illness won’t keep Osmond from continuing with performances. She is set to return to the stage Thursday night. No dates have been canceled.
CBS has tapped Donny Osmond to host its game show pilot, Secret Fortune.
If the project gets ordered to series, it will join a slew of other hosting gigs on the former teen idol’s resume, includingThe Donny & Marie Show, Pyramid andThe Great American Dream Vote. More recently, Osmond and sister Marie have served up a 90 minute show at Las Vegas’ Flamingo Hotel.
Fortune hails from British TV vet Nigel Lythgoe, who will serve as the show’s executive producer. It’s concept centers on 24 envelopes, each of which contain a check — ranging from measly to life-altering in sum — made out to the show’s contestants. Throughout the game, 23 of those envelopes are destroyed. The project is based on a Wild Rover Productions Format, and will also count Wild Rover’s Phil Morrow as an executive producer.
