The seventh installment in Hollywood’s “Fast & Furious” film franchise is to be released April 10, 2015, star Vin Diesel announced on Facebook.
Shooting on the movie had already begun, but was suspended after Diesel’s co-star Paul Walker was killed while he was a passenger in a fiery car crash after attending a Nov. 30 charity event. The action picture was initially expected to hit theaters this July.
“The last scene we filmed together … there was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared … in the film we were now completing … the magic captured … and, in just how far we’ve come … Fast and Furious 7 will be released … April 10th 2015! P.S. He’d want you to know first …” Diesel wrote online Sunday, referring to Walker.
The Hollywood Reporter said the late actor will appear in “Fast & Furious 7,” but it is unclear how much screen time his character, ex-cop Brian O’Conner, will have or how he will be written out of the movie.
