Britney Spears opens her Femme Fatale tour in Sacramento California. From getting fans onstage for a personal lapdance to straddling a huge guitar Britney pleased the sold out crowd. (June 17).

On Thursday night, Britney Spears declared herself a Femme Fatale, launching her tour in Sacramento, California. Having already garnered praise from critics who attended her dress rehearsal, Spears got more rave reviews from music journalists who attended the kick-off show. 

In addition to the glitzy costumes and high production value, Spears flaunted her stage chops, sashaying to songs like “Hold It Against Me” and “Big Fat Bass,” as well as old-school jams like “Toxic” and “Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know.

Britney Spears Snares Sixth No. 1 Album On Billboard With Femme Fatale

Britney Spears flies in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with her sixth chart-topping album, “Femme Fatale,” selling 276,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The feat ties her for the third-most No. 1s among women with Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson. Only Barbra Streisand (nine No. 1s) and Madonna (seven) have earned more No. 1s.

Britney Spears On Marriage to Jason Trawick: Never Say Never


Britney Spears may be walking down the aisle again – the pop stars tells Us Weekly magazine she has not ruled out tying the knot with longtime love Jason Trawick.


“Maybe,” Spears says of marriage. “Never say never!”

For now, the singer says she has “never been happier.” “We have such a great time together! He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves,” Spears, 29, tells Us of her relationship with Trawick.

Meanwhile, Spears is busy gearing up for a summer tour in support of her seventh studio album Femme Fatale, which was released last month. The tour kicks off in Sacramento, California at the Power Balance Pavilion on June 17 and ends in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on August 13. Tickets will be sold on Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.

Britney Spears’ New Album "Femme Fatale" Debuts No. 1

This week Britney Spears triumphs with her newest album Femme Fatale (Jive Records) bowing at No. 1 on U.S. albums charts. The chart-topping entry makes Spears the first female ever to have six No.1 album debuts, and marks the second biggest album debut of the year.  The album also debuts at No. 1 in Canada, Australia and Korea and enters in the Top 10 in 15 other countries.
The release of Femme Fatale follows the recent video premiere of the apocalyptic club thumper and Top 10 hit,  “Till The World Ends“ (ß click to view video) on VEVO.   The video is currently on heavy rotation on MTV, MTV Hits, MTV Tres and VH-1.
Additionally, Spears is earning accolades with Femme FataleRolling Stone magazine gave the album 4 out 5 stars and claims that “Femme Fatale may be Britney’s best album…”. The Associated Press adds,“Spears once again sizzles, and her flame burns as bright as ever,” and People Magazine raves, “One of the best start-to-finish albums of her career…”

Britney Spears Gears Up For "Till The World Ends" Video Shoot

Britney Spears is gearing up for a week of appearances and surprise performances to promote the release of her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale.

First off is a special performance on ABC’s Good Morning America from San Francisco’s historic Castro district. This is the first time the show has filmed a concert from the location, and due to the time difference and logistics Britney will pre-tape the performance on Sunday, March 27th and the concert will air on GMA on March 29th. She is scheduled to make several appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show week of release and MTV is celebrating Femme Fatale with a Britney take-over day on March 29th. Britney is confirmed to participate on Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards on April 2nd.

In between rehearsals, Britney is shooting the video for her newest song, “Till The World Ends”in Los Angeles. Ray Kay has been tapped to direct the video.

Britney is currently featured on the covers of V magazine and Out magazine’s first ever “Ladies We Love” issue.

Britney Spears’ next single from her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Femme Fatale is the upbeat, “Till The World Ends”.  Produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, it’s the follow-up to the million plus-selling infectious first single, “Hold It Against Me,” which debuted in the No. 1 position on both the Hot 100 Singles and the Hot Digital Songs charts. “Hold It Against Me” (ßclick to view) ranked No. 1 on digital singles charts in 20 markets worldwide, and the video clip is currently the #1 video on MTV and VH-1 in the U.S.

In her current V Magazine cover story, Spears says, “I think ‘Femme Fatale’ speaks for itself… I wanted to make a fierce dance record where each song makes you want to get up and move…”

Acknowledging today’s leak of her newest song, Britney just announced via twitter that she will formally premiere “Till The World Ends” on Ryan Seacrest’s show tomorrow morning, Friday, March 4thin the 7AM PST/10AM EST hour. Spears is confirmed to do a very special performance on Good Morning America from San Francisco, airing March 29th.
