Rock Talk: Foreigner Rocks The Billboard Top 200 Catalog Chart With Two Albums Positioned In The Top 50

Mick Jones of Foreigner

Foreigner hits the Billboard charts this week with two albums, Juke Box Heroes (2011) and No End In Sight (2008) positioned in Top 50 of The Billboard Top 200 Catalog Chart. This milestone comes on the heels of unprecedented accolades surrounding Foreigner and it’s founding member Mick Jones’ induction into The Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 13th, and as the band embarks on a European tour. Foreigner catalog sales this week eclipse those of fellow rock and roll titans AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Tom Petty and many others.
This year has brought Foreigner a resurgence in popularity with fans both old and new, enjoying major download activity and Facebook fans nearly doubling as the Foreigner fan page races towards its monumental 1 millionth “Like.”
Foreigner has connected with an entirely new legion of fans in 2012-2013 – with nearly 40% of Foreigner Facebook fans in the Millennial age group – thanks in part to hits “Juke Box Hero” and “Waiting For A Girl Like You” and “Feels Like The First Time” being featured in Hollywood hits like “Rock of Ages,” “Magic Mike,” and “Pitch Perfect” and appearances on TV shows like “Fox & Friends,” VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz,” and “The Voice.”
With ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits including “I Want To Know What Love Is,” “Cold as Ice” “Hot Blooded” and many more, Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million.
