It’s official – George Clooney’s 2-year romance with Stacy Keibler is over for good. An insider tells People magazine that it was Keibler who ended the relationship because of their opposing views on having children.
“Stacy called it quits. She wants to have children and a family someday. She knows where George stands on that. They talked and they quietly stopped being a couple several weeks ago,” the source says.
The insider describes the split as “friendly.” “They talk every day. They were friends before they started dating and they’ll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup],” adds the source.
Neither Clooney, 52, nor Keibler, 33, has commented on the split.
Two months ago, Clooney slammed rumors linking him to his ex-girlfriend Monika Jakisic. Witnesses reported seeing him holding hands and being affectionate with the Croatian model at a members only club in Mayfair, London. “The story is made up. I wasn’t holding anybody’s hand. Stop trying to sell magazines by creating scandal that isn’t there,” the actor said in a statement at the time.
Clooney’s upcoming films include Gravity, The Monuments Men and Tomorrowland.
George Clooney is not happy about the latest round of rumors surround his love live. The actor spoke out Wednesday against reports he was spotted over the weekend holding hands with former girlfriend Monika Jakisic at a members-only club in Mayfair, London.
“The story is made up. I wasn’t holding anybody’s hand. Stop trying to sell magazines by creating scandal that isn’t there,” says Clooney, who has been dating former wrestler Stacy Keibler for 2 years.
Witnesses had claimed Clooney, 52, was being very affectionate with Jakisic, a Croatian model, during a night out with friends as Loulou’s.
“They seemed to be having a great old time together. He didn’t seem to care who saw them. He was being openly affectionate,” a witness told In Touch magazine. “Lots of people were going up and saying hi to George — he didn’t leave Monika’s side.”
Clooney is in Europe to film The Monuments Men with Matt Damon and Cate Blanchett.
George Clooney is reportedly back on the market! The actor, who has famously declared he will never remarry or have children, is said to have split from his girlfriend Stacy Keibler because she is ready for marriage and babies.
“They knew it was never going to end in marriage or babies and Stacy does want kids and a husband in the next few years,” an insider tells The Sun.
The Sun reports Clooney, 51, was kind enough to “soften the breakup blow” with an apartment and jewelry for the 33-year-old former wrestler. The couple began dating in July 2011 shortly after Clooney’s split from Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis.
Neither Clooney nor Keibler has commented. Clooney is currently in Germany filming The Monument’s Men.
In 2008, Clooney explained why he doesn’t want marriage or children. “I don’t expect to ever get married again or have children,” he told Britain’s People. “I am never at home and every woman gets sick of it. … If I was them, I would never put up with me for long — and they don’t.”
“I do begin to wonder, ‘Am I going to be relegated to these three-year relationships for the rest of my life?’ My trouble is that I keep on taking jobs, and jobs take me further away from home,” he added. “What I really have is work. I like being on a film set, freezing my ass off, or whatever.”
George Clooney’s sister is convinced her famous brother will never get married and have children because he is too dedicated to his career.
The Ocean’s Eleven star, who is currently romancing former wrestler Stacy Keibler, has been a serial dater since 1993, when he split from his wife of four years, Talia Balsam.
Clooney’s older sibling Adelia Zeidler is convinced the 51-year-old won’t walk down the aisle again and start a family because he won’t want to leave a wife and kids behind while he goes off to make movies.
She tells the New York Daily News, “I would say he probably will not get married… If he was going to get married he would want to be a husband and be somebody who would be there, who would have the time and the ability to focus on the family and the home and all of that. And in the business that he is in, he has to be able to get up and go.
“The majority of actors don’t really make their marriages work… If he had children, when he was with them, he would be concerned about his career and if he was working he would be concerned about the children. And he doesn’t think it would be fair to split his focus.”
George Clooney has called on government officials to take action now to prevent the looming starvation crisis in South Sudan following his arrest on Friday morning.
The actor and his journalist father Nick were placed in handcuffs and driven away by secret service agents after they ignored three requests from police to leave the area of a humanitarian protest.
Clooney, who had given a speech on the steps of the Sudanese embassy in Washington, D.C., his father and 13 fellow protesters were arrested after they refused to clear the area and were charged with disorderly crossing a police line.
As he was led away, Clooney admitted his arrest was “a deeply humiliating thing”.
He was released after two hours in custody and held an impromptu press conference with his dad urging U.S. politicians to act now to put a stop to Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir’s ruthless quest for oil and the atrocities he’s accused of committing against his own people.
Clooney warned that the people of the newly-independent South Sudan faced starvation as they hide out in caves to avoid al-Bashir’s attacks and bombing raid on their homes.
He told reporters, “What we’ve been trying to achieve today is bring attention to an emergency, one that has about a six-week timetable for war… The rainy season starts soon and a lot of people are going to die from it. Our job right now is to try to bring attention to it.
“One of those ways was apparently getting arrested. I guess people aren’t allowed to hang out at the Sudanese embassy. I didn’t know that!
“There are people dying every day… What is the real looming danger is this: they are trying to choke these people out and get them to leave… They are not leaving their land, they are hiding in caves… The best estimates are tens of thousands of people are going to die from starvation that is man-made. This isn’t a famine, this is a man-made tragedy by the government of Khartoum to get these people out, so it’s immediate.
“We hope that this (his arrest) brings attention to it; we hope it helps… We hope it gives some more political will… and we hope that people really understand there is a ticking clock on this and we really need to get moving.”
The Descendants star has been campaigning for international humanitarian help in Sudan for years, and he traveled to the African nation last week to gather first-hand information about the crisis ahead of a meeting with members of Congress at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday.
George Clooney was arrested in Washington, D.C. Friday while participating in a protest against Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir. Demonstrators holding signs reading “Stop Bombing Civilians Now!” and “End the silence stop the violence” blocked the entrance to the Sudanese Embassy in protest of al-Bashir blocking humanitarian aid.
Just moments before his arrest Clooney said humanitarian aid is needed in Sudan “before it becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.”
The actor and numerous other protesters were arrested after ignoring three police orders to disperse. Clooney talked to reporters as his hands were being bound with plastic zip-ties. “I’m just trying to raise attention,” he said. “This is for the government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its own innocent men, women and children. Stop raping them and stop starving them. That’s all we ask.”
Among those arrested along with Clooney were his father, journalist Nick Clooney; End Genocide President Tom Andrews; U.S. Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia; NAACP President Ben Jealous; and Martin Luther King III.
A Secret Service spokesman told People magazine Clooney was charged with “disorderly crossing of a police line.” He will be required to pay a $100 fine.
Miss Piggy has challenged George Clooney to a wrestling match at the Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) 2012.
The outspoken puppet star of new movie ‘The Muppets’ is the official red carpet host of the film awards, and is looking forward to the possibility of meeting ‘The Descendants’ star, who is dating former wrestler Stacey Kleiber.
Miss Piggy said: “I don’t wrestle girlfriends. However, if George wants to wrestle, bring it on! Best two out of three falls? Winner gets a dinner?”
She also promised that the ceremony could be a career highlight for a number of actors’ career, not because they could win awards, but because they will get to meet her.
She added: “Imagine the likes of George Clooney, Jean Dujardin, Michael Fassbender, Gary Oldman and Brad Pitt achieving the very pinnacle of their careers by getting a chance to speak with the one and only moi – Miss Piggy!
“Naturally, I will be asking questions that only moi would dare to ask.”
Miss Piggy – famed for her diva personality and glamorous outfits – also thinks there’s only one star who can compete with her in the glamour stakes, Lady Gaga, and has given an insight into her daily beauty regime.
She said: “I wake up at the crack of dawn, realise it’s far too early to get up, then go back to bed and sleep until mid-morning. Then first thing, I meet with my personal trainer. Not only is he a gorgeous hunk, but he does the workout for me,” she revealed.
“Hey, if I’m paying, then he’s sweating, not moi. After a relaxing massage and a healthy brunch, my diva-certified crew of stylists, hairdressers, make-up artists and sycophants arrives to prepare me for the day.”
The BAFTAs take place at London’s Royal Opera House this Sunday (12.02.12).
