Singer/actress Hilary Duff and her husband Mike Comrie have marked their first wedding anniversary by announcing they are expecting their first child.
The Cheaper By The Dozen star, 23, wed ice hockey player Comrie, 30, last summer (10) and they have wasted no time in starting a family.
In a post on her website on Sunday (14Aug11), she writes, “I can’t believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you’re having fun! “We also want to share the exciting news that… BABY MAKES THREE!!! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives.” The news will come as a surprise to fans – last week (ends12Aug11), Duff insisted the couple wanted to wait a little while before trying for a baby.
She told Eonline.com, “I think it was important to us that we had a year to just do whatever. And maybe longer than that because we enjoy having so much freedom. But we’re thinking about it.”
Britney Spears has thanked her celebrity pals for helping her raise over $200,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts at her California charity event on Wednesday (11May11).
The Toxic hitmaker hosted An Evening of Southern Style at a private residence in Beverly Hills to benefit the St. Bernard Project, an organisation which helps those made homeless by the devastating storm which ripped through her home state of Louisiana in 2005.
During the evening, Spears served her own “homemade sweet tea”, while her father Jamie catered a traditional southern menu for celebrity guests including Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Kelly Osbourne, Kellan Lutz and Kim Kardashian.
The pop superstar has now thanked the stars for showing their support and revealed the evening was a big success.
In a post on Twitter.com, she writes, “Thank you everyone who came out to support my charity event last night with St Bernard Project. With your help we raised over 200k! – Britney.” Spears then named and thanked her celebrity guests for their attendance.
Britney Spears’ boyfriend Jason Traywick has re-signed as her agent as the superstar prepares for another pop comeback.
The Toxic hitmaker began dating Trawick in early 2009 and he stepped down from his post as her representative last May (10) so they could concentrate on their romance.
He continued to work at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, looking after the interests of clients such as Paris Hilton, Taylor Swift and Hilary Duff, but he has now rejoined the team in charge of Spears’ career, a spokesperson has confirmed.
However, Trawick will not be helping with the singer’s return to the pop charts – he will focus on her acting endeavours.
A source tells Us Magazine.com, “Jason will be part of the team handling her career. He won’t be the only agent working with her.” Spears is due to release a new album, the follow-up to 2008’s Circus, later this year (11). Her new single, Hold It Against Me, has already proved to be a big hit, breaking U.S. airplay records when it was distributed to radio stations earlier this month (Jan11).
The star teased fans on Monday (24Jan11) by releasing the first shot from the single’s forthcoming video via her Twitter.com blog.
