Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler has parted ways with theAmerican Idol producers by revealing the TV talent show wasn’t all fun.
The Love in an Elevator singer quit the show after two seasons earlier this month – a day before fellow judge Jennifer Lopez followed him out the door – and he is now admitting he only agreed to sit alongside J.Lo and Randy Jackson for the cash, and to give his bandmates the chance to calm down after he announced plans for a hiatus.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “It was something to do while the storm blew by, to be honest… not my cup of tea.
“I loved it and hated it. It was a great job, I sat next to J.Lo and I made a ton of money. It was a moment in life and it became larger than life.”
But Tyler admits he didn’t like the workload – or the prompting to be meaner, like Simon Cowell, the judge he replaced: “It was just hard work – seven-hour days and then I went and did the (Aerosmith) album for eight hours after that.
“The show’s about kids and what you do to nurture their talent. They wanted me to take the p**s out of (mock) the kids and I don’t have that in me. That’s not what I’m about. That’s more about that other guy (Cowell). Not me.”
Jennifer Lopez said she has yet to decide whether she will return to the judge’s seat on “American Idol” after this season.
Lopez addressed speculation about her role on the show Thursday night, tweeting, “There is no truth to reports that say I am definitely leaving Idol. All I said was I haven’t decided what I am doing next year.”
In another tweet, she added, “When I know for sure what I’m doing I will let the #LOVE!RS know!”

Jim Carrey‘s daughter Jane is setting her sights on becoming the next American Idol.
The new mother was revealed as a contestant on the show on Sunday night when she took part in the pre-taped auditions in San Diego, California.
Carrey performed Something to Talk About in front of judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson who all voted her through to the next round of the currentcompetition.
The young singer confessed she has found it hard growing up as Jim Carrey’s daughter, stating, “It is difficult kind of growing up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world underneath this huge shadow.”
Lopez in particular was stunned when she hit the audition stage onboard the U.S.S. Midway – because she was a dancer on Carrey’s comedy show In Living Color when Jane was a baby.
The pop star cooed, “I remember you when you were little. Do you remember me? I was one of the Fly Girls.”
Carrey responded, “I think I was, like, two.”
This has been a year of high-profile celebrity divorces;
there was Ashton and Demi, Arnold and Maria and now Jennifer Lopez and Marc
When J Lo and Marc Anthony announced their divorce in July, after
seven years of marriage, they asserted that it was an amicable split, but now
it seems as things are turning a bit nasty. Sources close to the couple told US
Weekly that now Anthony wants joint custody of their children.
After the couple initially sought out a divorce attorney to file for dissolution, they agreed that Lopez
would have primary custody of their children and Anthony would have visitation.
But sources say Anthony is angry about Lopez’s relationship with backup dancer
Casper Smart, who is almost 20 years her junior.
Anthony became furious when he saw pictures of his twin
daughters and Smart playing on the beach over Thanksgiving. The source says he
“hit the roof.” The source added that Anthony is now using the children as a
way to retaliate against Lopez for moving on so quickly.
Another source says Lopez is ready to fight and things may
Steven Tyler appears in a new commercial for the 11th season of American Idol, set to begin airing in January. The new ad first appeared during game four of the World Series.
The commercial shows Tyler, alongside fellow judges Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, as well as host Ryan Seacrest, leading a group of would-be contestants toward a theater marquee that reads “Auditions Today.” As each judge walks down the street, the people they pass drop what they’re doing and start following them. When they arrive at the theater, Seacrest turns and asks them, “Are you ready?” as the words “The Incredible Journey Begins . . . American Idol . . . January 22” flash onscreen.
Tyler and the rest of Aerosmith recently kicked off a tour of South America and Mexico, and plan on visiting Japan before late December.
J-Lo is a curvy and proud woman and she once fired a manager, who insisted she lose weight. In an interview conducted by Jane Fonda, who has been open about her plastic surgery, which appears in Glamour magazine, Lopez talks about her body.
The pressure to be thin in Hollywood is intense, and many actresses and singers, who are by no means overweight, have felt the pressure to become ultra-thin. Many of these celebrities have made the decision to have cosmetic surgery and liposuction to conform to Hollywood’s standards of beauty. But not Jennifer Lopez, she fired one of her managers who insisted she lose weight saying it was “mean” and that wasn’t who she is. Her curvy frame has been one of her greatest assets, and her toned and fuller buttocks is one of her claims to fame, among many others.
In the interview, Lopez admitted that she would consider plastic surgery, she says she doesn’t feel like she needs it now, but she is open to the idea of cosmetic surgery in the future.
The cosmetic surgery industry has grown over the years as people have changed their feelings towards cosmetic enhancements, finding it more acceptable than any other time. Numerous women have gone
to plastic surgeons seeking out liposuction to achieve a curvy figure like Jennifer Lopez. With liposuction, it is possible for a person to contour their bodies and remove fat from areas of discontent.

In the September issue of Vanity Fair magazine, Jennifer Lopez opens up about her split from Marc Anthony. Lopez and Anthony announced the end of their 7 year marriage last month, but did not give a reason for the breakup. Lopez now tells Vanity Fair that she realized Anthony, the father of her 3-year-old twins, was “not good” for her.
“It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself – if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me,” the American Idol judge tells the magazine.
Despite their differences, Lopez says she and Anthony will always be a part of each others lives. “I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer,” she adds. “He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”
Anthony has not commented.
