Mike Sorrentino Admits To Prescription Drug Problem

After denying he was seeking treatment for addiction problems, Jersey Shore star Mike Sorrentino has admitted he is getting help for a “prescription medication problem.”

“I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion,” Sorrentino wrote on his official website. “I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys.”

In a statement released earlier this week, Sorrentino’s rep said the reality star was in a facility to rest. “He has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule,” his rep said.

Sorrentino, aka The Situation, will soon begin filming the sixth season of Jersey Shore with castmates JWoww, Snooki, Vinny, Ronnie, Pauly D, Sammi Sweetheart and Deena Cortese. “The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the ‘Shore’ take off in exciting new directions,” MTV says of the new season. “While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same.”

MTV Confirms Jersey Shore Will Return For Another Season

MTV has confirmed Jersey Shore will return for a sixth season this year with the entire cast, including a pregnant Nicole Polizzi, on board. Filming will begin this summer in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The network has not released any other details about season six, but did hint that some changes are coming for the cast.

“The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the ‘Shore’ take off in exciting new directions,” MTV said Monday. “While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same.”

One of those “new directions” will likely include Polizzi’s impending motherhood and engagement to longtime boyfriend Jionni LaValle. The 24-year-old announced her pregnancy and engagement earlier this month.

In addition to the upcoming season of Jersey Shore, Polizzi can be seen alongside JWoww on their new spinoff show, Snooki and JWoww vs. The World.

Snooki Pregnant and Getting Married

Reality TV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is set to walk down the aisle and is also expecting a baby with her boyfriend Jionni LaValle.

The Jersey Shore star’s boyfriend proposed last month and now reports the pint-sized 24 year old is also pregnant.

It is not yet known when the couple will wed but Snooki is due to give birth later this year.

The news should come as no surprise to fans – she recently told, “I know he’s (LaValle) the one so I know the ring’s gonna come soon.”

Snooki is currently in the middle of filming her own spin-off reality series with best friend Jennifer ‘JWoww’ Farley in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Abercrombie and Fitch Offers To Pay The Situation To Stop Wearing Their Clothes

Abercrombie and Fitch wants nothing to do with The Situation or Jersey Shore! The clothing giant has offered Mike Sorrentino and his Jersey Shore co-stars a “substantial payment” in exchange for the group not wearing their clothes.

In a statement released Tuesday, Abercrombie and Fitch said Sorrentino’s “association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image.”

“We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans,” the company said. “We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

Neither Sorrentino nor MTV has commented.

Pauly D Doesn’t Want Shore Romance

Pauly D will never fall in love on ‘Jersey Shore’.
Although the DJ had a brief romance with housemate JWoww he was put off dating girls on the MTV show after witnessing his friend Ronnie struggle to cope with volatile Sam.
He explained to BANG Showbiz: “Look at Ronnie and Sam, never fall in love in ‘Jersey Shore’, that’s what Ronnie said to us, he should have taken his own advice. That was the best advice he ever gave me. He and Sam are on and off all the time, no one knows what’s going on with them.
“I love everybody in the house, we’re all like really good friends now and they’re almost like sisters at this point so I love living with them. We joke around and have fun but as far as anything more than that I don’t think so, we’ll just keep it on the friend level. At the moment I’m happy to just be single and I’m enjoying having a good time.”
Pauly D’s fellow housemate and budding actor Vinny has hooked up with both the departed Angelina and castmate Snooki but he has no plans for a long-term romance with any of the ‘Jersey Shore’ girls.
He said: “When you live in a shore house things like [Snooki coming on to him] happens, you love these people but at the same time things do start to get weird, you’ve got a lot of drunken nights and Snooki’s not actually my family so she does sometimes end up in my bed just because you want that companionship. But it’s nothing serious.”
The new series of ‘Jersey Shore’ airs every Tuesday at 10pm on MTV.

They may be comfortably back in their spiritual home of Seaside Heights for the new season, but not for long! The cast of MTV’s smash hit “Jersey Shore” are poised to head to the other homeland: Italy.

On Tuesday (January 25), MTV announced that not only had “Shore” been renewed for a fourth season, but that, in the upcoming season, the cast would be taking their show on the road … all the way to Italy. Production on season four is set to begin in spring 2011, and will premiere “later this year.”

“While the Stateside ‘Jersey Shore’ locales have become iconic for our audience, it’s really the constantly evolving dynamic amongst the cast that keeps them coming back each season, and Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us,” Chris Linn, MTV’s executive vice president of programming and head of production, said in a statement. “The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can’t wait to see what erupts as a result.”
