Jessica Simpson is looking forward to having a son since she doesn’t have a brother. The Fashion Star mentor and mom of 11-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew tells People magazine the “unknown” element to raising a boy is exciting.
“I didn’t grow up with a brother and I think the unknown is really exciting,” she explains. “I can’t wait to have that connection with our little man.”
Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson celebrated the upcoming arrival of their baby boy with a Tom Sawyer themed baby shower in Los Angeles on Sunday. “He got all these cute vintage cars and I got a lot of little leather jackets I can’t wait to try out!” she says.
As for how Maxwell celebrated her brother, Simpson says, “She was taking over some of her little brother’s gifts!” says Simpson.
Planned by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss and Simpson’s mom Tina, the 4 hour party featured vintage tables, vintage tin pitchers filled with flowers, and southern food like pigs in a blanket, mini-burgers, corn on the cob and fried chicken. Guests included Simpson’s sister Ashlee Simpson, her hairdresser and close friend Ken Paves, and actress Jessica Alba.
Simpson, 32, will give birth this summer.
Jessica Simpson is getting ready for her son! The fashion designer and Fashion Star mentor met with about 100 family members and close friends Sunday afternoon for a Tom Sawyer-themed baby shower at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Simpson, who sported a blue Diane von Furstenberg maxi dress and nude Brian Atwood heels, was accompanied to the party by her fiancé Eric Johnson and their 11-month-old daughter Maxwell.

Simpson announced her pregnancy in December. In March, she accidentally reveal the baby’s gender on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While talking about how hard her second pregnancy has been, Simpson joked than she “never knew that a wiener could actually make me nauseous.”
“Well, I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!” she said, adding, “I can’t believe I did that; that was not planned … I just did it so crude, too. That was awful. I’m talking about wieners.”
Simpson also told Kimmel that she believes two children may be her limit. “I really don’t want to be pregnant again, because this pregnancy is really rocking my world right now,” she said. “I just feel awful, I’ve been vomiting.”
The Fashion Star mentor is due to give birth this summer.
No more bump-hiding clothes for Jessica Simpson! Now that she has confirmed her second pregnancy, the singer/fashion designer is proudly showing off her new baby curves. Simpson, 32, Tweeted a picture of her bare bump on Sunday.
“Bumpin’ and Proud!” she wrote.
Simpson, who is mom to 7-month-old Maxwell with fiancé Eric Johnson, confirmed her pregnancy on Christmas Day with a photo of her daughter sitting next to the words “BIG SIS” written in the sand. The 32-year-old Weight Watchers spokesperson is currently vacationing in Hawaii with Johnson, Maxwell, younger sister Ashley Simpson, nephew Bronx and several other family members and friends.
Simpson has not released any details about her pregnancy, including the baby’s due date.
Jessica Simpson is officially a mom! The singer and fashion designer gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. Maxwell is the first child for Simpson and her fiancé, former NFL star Eric Johnson. Maxwell’s arrival was announced on Simpson’s official website.
“Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!” Simpson wrote.
Maxwell is not the only little one in the Simpson family. Jessica’s younger sister Ashlee Simpson welcomed a son named Bronx with ex-husband Pete Wentz in 2008.
Simpson, 31, announced her pregnancy last October on Twitter. She was engaged to Johnson, 32, in November 2010.
Hollywood stars Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba jetted to Connecticut at the weekend (Jun 4-5)) to help their boyfriends celebrate their 10-year college reunion at Yale University.
Simpson’s fiance, football star Eric Johnson and Alba’s husband, producer Cash Warren graduated from the Ivy League school in 2001.
They returned at the weekend with sexy celebrity guests on their arms.
Both couples were snapped holding hands, walking through the campus grounds, while pregnant Alba and her husband pushed baby Honor along in a stroller.
