In Case You Missed It…Prince George Christened!

Prince George has been christened at the Chapel Royal at St. James’ Palace in London.

The three-month-old baby of Prince William and Duchess Catherine was officially blessed on Wednesday afternoon (23.10.13) in an intimate ceremony with his godparents and uncle Prince Harry in attendance.

Prince George has seven godparents, all of whom were announced earlier in the day: Zara Tindall, Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine- Paterson, Earl Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel and William van Cutsem.

Zara Tindall, previously Phillips, is Prince William’s cousin, the second eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and former rugby star Mike Tindall’s wife. The six other godparents are all friends of the royal couple.

The christening was a private event with only senior royals, four members of Duchess Catherine’s family and the seven godparents and their partners in attendance.

The prince, who is third in line to the British throne, was born in London on 22 July. He is said to have been baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury wearing a replica of the lace and satin christening gown which was made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, Victoria, in 1841.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose a number of hymns, lessons and anthems for the ceremony.

The hymns included ‘Breathe on Me’, ‘Breath of God’ and ‘Be Though My Vision’.

Prince William’s brother Prince Harry and Duchess Catherine’s sister Pippa Middletonread the lessons and the anthems were sung by the Choir of Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal.

Following the ceremony the duchess carried Prince George out of the chapel and guests then made their way to Clarence House for a tea party hosted by George’s grandfather, Prince Charles.

Kate Middleton Will Skip Appearance At The Hobbit Premiere

Royal engagements are taking the back seat for pregnant Kate Middleton. The 30-year-old, who was hospitalized for acute morning sickness last week, will skip her appearance with Prince William at Wednesday’s premiere of The Hobbit to continue resting at home.

“The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend The Hobbit Premiere tomorrow evening and will continue to rest privately,” a St. James Palace rep said, adding that Prince William “will attend as planned.”

Middleton’s pregnancy was announced last Monday after she was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital for treatment of acute morning sickness, also known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). The condition can cause fainting, lightheadedness, weight loss, vomiting and acute nausea. Middleton returned to Kensington Palace on Thursday.

On Sunday, Prince William canceled his appearance at the British Military Tournament to care for Middleton as she suffered another bout of HG. The following day, a royal rep said the palace will not continue to give the public updates on Middleton’s condition.

“Until further notice, to allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy, we do not intend to offer regular condition checks or advise of routine developments,” the rep said.

Kate Middleton Suffers Another Bout Of Severe Morning Sickness

Prince William canceled his appearance at the British Military Tournament on Sunday to take care of his pregnant wife Kate Middleton as she suffered another bout of Hyperemesis Gravidarum, or severe morning sickness. Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), which only occurs in about 1 percent of pregnancies, can cause fainting, lightheadedness, weight loss, vomiting and acute nausea.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were forced to announce their baby news Monday when the Duchess was admitted King Edward VII Hospital for treatment of HG. She was released on Thursday and returned to Kensington Palace “for a period of rest.”

Over the weekend, St. James Palace confirmed Middleton was suffering another bout of acute morning sickness. “It is well known that Hyperemesis Gravidarum often recurs,” a palace spokesman told Us Weekly. “Until further notice, to allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy, we do not intend to offer regular condition checks or advise of routine developments.”

Prince William spoke about Middleton’s condition Saturday at the Winter Whites Gala at Royal Albert Hall in London. “I don’t know why they call it morning sickness — they should call it all day and all night sickness,” he said. “[Recovery is] a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever.”

Kate Middleton Cradles Baby Bump?

Kate Middleton set the rumor mill buzzing with her recent visit to a UNICEF distribution center in Copenhagen, Denmark. Wearing a red coat belted at the waist, the Duchess sampled UNICEF supplies along with husband Prince William. When William offered her a taste of peanut paste – something pregnant women are advised not to eat — Middleton refused and reportedly gave him a “knowing look.”
She then fueled the pregnancy speculation when she repeatedly cradled her stomach. “It was very odd. Kate would not stop touching her tummy –it was very noticeable. She continually patted it and held her hands against it,” a witness told the Daily Mail. “She must have been doing it without realizing, and at one point she had both her hands cradling her stomach.”
A rep for the couple refused to comment on the rumors. “We do not comment on speculation about whether the Duchess is pregnant or not,” the rep told E! News.
