Katy Perry to Go One on One with Fans at the SiriusXM Studios as Part of the SiriusXM "Town Hall" Series

Sirius XM Radio SIRI+0.52% today announced that Katy Perry will sit down for a Q&A session with a select group of listeners for the SiriusXM “Town Hall” series on Friday, October 11.

Moderated by SiriusXM Hits 1’s The Morning Mash Up hosts Nicole Ryan, Stanley T, Rich Davis and Ryan Sampson, “SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Katy Perry” will air on Tuesday, October 15 at 12:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Hits 1 and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com. In the unique and intimate setting, fans will hear Perry answering questions about her upcoming album Prism, which is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 22.

“SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Katy Perry” is part of SiriusXM’s “Town Hall” series, featuring iconic entertainers and figures sitting down with studio audiences of SiriusXM listeners. Previous SiriusXM “Town Hall” specials have featured Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson, Alicia Keys, KISS, Coldplay, Cher, Ringo Starr, Taylor Swift, Hugh Jackman, Usher, Roger Waters and the surviving members of Nirvana.

SiriusXM Hits 1 plays everything from pop to hip-hop to rock to R&B. Listeners will hear artists like One Direction, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and P!nk.

Bonnie McKee "American Girl" Top 40 Debut!

Breakout star Bonnie McKee, who has co-written No. 1 hits for Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Taio Cruz, has watched her solo career heat up to a full boil ever since she unleashed a viral video for her debut single “American Girl” — an anthemic pop tune that showcases her powerhouse voice, knack for big choruses, and nostalgia-tinged lyrical point of view. The viral video (which can be seen here) is packed with celebrity cameos by Perry, Tommy Lee, KISS, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Carly Rae Jepsen, Joan Rivers and many others lip-synching along to the song. The star-studded clip, which has seen over one million views, has led to a wave of press attention, with several outlets calling “American Girl,” which is climbing the Top 40 radio chart, the “Song of the Summer.” McKee will perform the song on Good Morning America on August 15th. In addition, McKee has debuted the official video for “American Girl” on VEVO this week already pulling in over a million views.

Rockers ‘Kiss’ Developing ‘Hello Kitty’ Children’s Show

Rockers Kiss are going family-friendly – they are teaming up with TV bosses for a new Hello Kitty children’s series.
The band first collaborated with the makers of the fictional cat character in 2010 to launch a range of products, including toys and electronics, entitled KISS x Hello Kitty – and now the partnership is moving to the small screen.
Executives at cable network The Hub have optioned the rights to a new series, which has the working title of Kiss Hello Kitty, and singer Gene Simmons is thrilled about the venture.
He says, “The Hub Network is the perfect home for the TV show, Kiss Hello Kitty. We are incredibly excited about this opportunity and want to make all our millions of fans worldwide proud of a show they can watch with the whole family.”
Bandmate Paul Stanley adds, “Knowing and viewing The Hub as I do daily with my three children, it is the perfect home for us to bring the KISS Hello Kitty juggernaut to yet another generation. I’m excited to develop this project with The Hub as it ensures it will have family appeal while keeping its brash and nurturing individuation.”
The TV show, which Simmons is slated to executive produce, will reportedly feature four of the characters living their rock ‘n’ roll dreams.

Eminem Wows California Festival With Stunning Hits Set

Eminem made a triumphant return to California on Saturday night (25Sep10) when he stole the show from co-headliners KISS at the Epicenter Twenty Ten festival in Fontana.


The rapper hit the stage in dramatic fashion after a Star Wars-type scr ipt scrolled across a space-themed giant screen, calling the show the Det roit native’s “Recovery”.

The cinematic note read, “In 2005, after completing a U.S. tour, Eminem stopped performing. Eminem entered rehab, a European tour was cancelled and there were rumors that he was retiring. Over the following years, Emi nem appeared to be detached and unfocused. Seldom did he return to perfor m live.
“Tonight Eminem return to the stage. You are all hear to witness Eminem ‘s Recovery.” The rapper then performed a powerful hits set dotted with medleys from past crowd-pleasers like My Name Is and The Real Slim Shady. He was also joined onstage by his D-12 bandmates for a tight three-song set.

The huge screen above him was used to show clips from his videos, quirk y animation and it was used to beam images of late pal Proof and slain ra ppers Biggie Smalls, aka Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac Shakur during tributes.

Eminem appeared to be humbled and thrilled by the response from his Cal ifornia fans and treated them to an encore of Lose Yourself long after he ‘d thanked them for supporting him and bidding them a good night.
The highlights of his 80-minute set also included renditions of Stan, N ot Afraid, I Love the Way You Lie and his take on B.o.B.’s summer (10) sm ash Airplanes.

The festival show came at the end of a month where Eminem performed bac k-to-back baseball stadium shows with Jay-Z in New York and Detroit.

Rockers Kiss discovered the rapper was a tough act to follow – more tha n half of Saturday’s Epicenter audience left the arena after Eminem’s show ended.

Suicidal Tendencies and Blink-182 will headline the second day of the hit weekend festival on Sunday (Sept 26).
