Arnold Schwarzenegger Focused On “Rebuilding” Marriage

In an appearance on Hannity this week, Arnold Schwarzenegger says he is focused on “rebuilding” his relationship with estranged wife Maria Shriver. Shriver filed for divorce in July 2011 after Schwarzenegger admitted to having a love child with their longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena. Baena and Schwarzenegger’s son Joseph was born just five days after the Shriver and Schwarzenegger welcomed son Christopher on September 27, 1997.

“It was a situation where I couldn’t even blame anybody else but myself, because my wife was a fantastic wife. She was a great friend, she was a great adviser, everything, great mother. I mean, my kids were fantastic. The thing that I cherished the most, you know, I destroyed by some stupid things that I’ve done. For me, it’s important to kind of rebuild again, get the trust back with the kids, with my wife,” said the former California governor, who is also dad to Katherine, 22, Christina, 21, Patrick, 19, with Shriver.

“It takes a lot of time to heal those wounds and to trust each other again. But, you know, I will make every effort,” Schwarzenegger said, adding that he thinks they will reconcile “eventually.”

“I’ve hurt a lot of people,” the actor added. “I hurt my wife tremendously, who doesn’t deserve that, and my kids and relatives, all this. I’m embarrassed, ashamed about it, but you can’t go back.”

Schwarzenegger, 65, released his memoir, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, on Monday.

Arnold and Maria Want to Seal Financial Records

Now that Arnold and Maria have decided to finally dissolve their marriage with some high dollar divorce attorneys, the two are hoping to seal their financial records. We already know they will be dividing hundreds of millions of dollars, but they don’t want the public to know exactly how much is at stake.

RadarOnline reported that their attorneys will file to have financial records sealed, immediately. Maria inherited a vast sum of money when her parents died, and doesn’t want that information made public.

Maria is in the process of purchasing a $10 million dollar home. Some have speculated Maris stands to gain $300 million on the impending divorce settlement, but the exact details will not be known.

Experienced divorce lawyers work to get their clients the most favorable settlements.

Arnold, on the other hand, had to release his financial record while he was Governor of California, but now that he is out of public service there is no reason for him to disclose his financial records.

If the judge grants their request the public will not be privy to the amount of their divorce settlement. The sealed financial records will have no bearing on their final settlement. The custody of their minor children is also on issue in their final settlement, but there is no word on who wants primary custody.

Couples who decide to divorce whether they have millions in assets or not benefit from employing a divorce attorney.

Maria Shriver Reportedly Files For Divorce From Arnold Schwarzenegger reports Maria Shriver has filed court papers seeking to end her 25 year marriage to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Shriver filed for divorce Friday citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. She requests that Schwarzenegger pay her attorney fees and share custody of their two minor children, 17-year-old Patrick and 13-year-old Christopher.

Shriver, 55, and Schwarzenegger, 63, announced their separation in early May. The announcement was quickly followed by Schwarzenegger’s confession to secretly fathering a child over a decade ago with the family’s housekeeper of 20 years, Mildred Baena.

“This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment,” Shriver said at the time.
