Photos of Marilyn Monroe’s Last Sitting For Sale

A rare portfolio of photographs from Marilyn Monroe’s last sitting is up for grabs to the highest bidder.

Freeman’s auction house in Philadelphia says the limited-edition portfolio of 10 photos goes on the block Sept. 10. The photos were made from fashion photographer Bert Stern’s original negatives from his June 1962 assignment for Vogue.

Monroe died six weeks later.

The head of the century-old auction house’s photography division says the photos will be on view starting Sept. 6. The auction house estimates the portfolio could fetch $10,000 to $15,000.

Stern took more than 2,500 photos of the Hollywood icon over three days at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. The 20-by-20-inch portfolio photos are from the first day.

Beyond The Grave: Marilyn Monroe New Face of Chanel

Marilyn Monroe is fronting a promotional campaign for luxury perfume Chanel No. 5 from beyond the grave.

The late screen icon, who famously touted the scent as her favorite fragrance, follows in the footsteps of other brand ambassadors, including Carole Bouquet and Nicole Kidman, and most recently Brad Pitt, who starred in the last No. 5 advertising campaign.

Monroe will now be taking over from Pitt after Chanel bosses put together a new promo featuring previously unreleased pictures of the actress and unheard audio in which she explains her famous quote about wearing nothing but Chanel No. 5 in bed.

She says in the film, titled Marilyn and No. 5, “They ask you questions like… What do you wear to bed – A pajama top?… A nightgown? So I said, ‘Chanel No. 5’ because it’s the truth!…”

Miley Cyrus & Demi Lovato Team Up on Twitter to Fight Haters, Defend Curvy Women

When it comes to recent remarks made about her weight, Miley Cyrus is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

The 18-year-old starlet began lashing out on Twitter late last week to comment on all the mean-spirited critiques and the negative impact they can have.

“By calling girls like me fat, this is what you’re doing to other people,” Miley tweeted on Friday along with a photo of a woman clearly suffering from an eating disorder. “I love MYSELF & if you could say the same you wouldn’t be sitting on your computer trying to hurt others.”

Miley proceeded to post a pic of Marilyn Monroe that included the following caption: “Proof that you can be adored by thousands of men even when your thighs touch.”
