One of the little people Miley Cyrus hired for her provocative MTV Video Music Awards performance in August has blasted the singer for turning her into a figure of fun.
Hollis Jane was among the dancers who dressed up in bear costumes for the pop star’s We Can’t Stop set, and she has now taken to her blog to lash out at her one-time boss.
She writes, “I will be the first one to tell you that standing on that stage, in that costume was one of the most degrading things I felt like I could ever do.
“I realize not everyone shares my opinion and I might just be young and naive, but I feel like the acceptance of this kind of treatment has got to stop… I had never been in a performance where I was purely meant to be gawked or laughed at. I will never forget that performance because it is what forced me to draw my personal line in the sand.
“After our first dress rehearsal in the costumes with the crew, publicists, performers etc. watching us, I walked out of the Barclay Center shaking and crying. I was being stared and laughed at for all of the wrong reasons. I was being looked at as a prop… as something less than human.”
Cyrus faced a barrage of criticism after her VMAs performance after stripping to her flesh-colored latex underwear for a suggestive performance of Blurred Lines with Robin Thicke.
Justin Timberlake wants to form a teen dream supergroup featuring his ‘NSYNC bandmates and One Direction.
The veteran singers – Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick – reunited at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (Aug13) after going on extended hiatus in 2002.
Now Timberlake has suggested their comeback could be even more spectacular – he wants to form an all-boy supergroup with the five lads in One Direction.
Timberlake tells U.K. TV show Daybreak, “Really can 10 of those hairstyles be on the same stage? I think we already know the answer… We should just form like some supergroup. It’d be hilarious.
“I haven’t seen the One Direction lads too much just because I’m constantly moving, probably at the same pace they are, but what I have seen, I think I like them. They seem grounded to me. I like that about them.”
Kelly Osbourne has offered her friend Miley Cyrus some advice following the former child star’s controversial MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
Cyrus has been all over the headlines after taking the stage with Robin Thicke for a sexually-charged duet on his hit song Blurred Lines, and many people in Hollywood have criticized the 20-year-old for going too far with her raunchy routine, but Osbourne has offered up some more pointed advice.
She says, “Look Miley’s my friend and I love her, and I have her back no matter what, but, as her friend, I’m going to tell her – put your (expletive) tongue in your mouth! I love you, but just put your tongue in your mouth.”
Previously, Osbourne defended her pal on Twitter.com, telling followers, “I wish ppl (people) would back off @MileyCyrus… yes she pushed peoples buttons but she is young & expressing herself… I think people forget that she is an actress! She only played #HannahMontana but she IS @MileyCyrus!”
