Celebrities Nationwide Paying Attention to Boston Tragedy

Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Lil Wayne have offered their thoughts and prayers to those injured after two mysterious explosions rocked the Boston Marathon route in Massachusetts on Monday.

As news footage took over TV networks across America, worried Lohan took to to share her thoughts, writing in a post, “Sending prayers to everyone who was/is at the #bostonmarathon.”

Rapper Lil Wayne was also watching the news unfold and tweeted: “Prayers for Boston,” while actress Chloe Moretz added, “Boston marathon, absolutely terrifying I hope everyone is okay… Horrific things happening in the world today. God bless those who have died and are injured.”

Longoria was shocked by the news reports, too. She tweeted: “God Bless everyone in Boston… God be with the injured people!” Others offering their thoughts and prayers include Kelly Osbourne, Josh Duhamel and British singer/songwriter Billy Bragg, who is on tour in America.

Meanwhile, New Kids on the Black star Joey McIntyre has revealed he was caught up in the chaos following the blasts, after crossing the finish line minutes before the incident.

The Boston native tweets, “There was an explosion by the finish line about 5 minutes after I finished – I’m ok but I’m sure there are many hurt.”

McIntyre included a self-taken photo of himself finishing the race.

New Kids and Backstreets To Stream Gig In Cinemas

Reunited ’90s stars New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys are to make history by broadcasting a concert live in more than 300 cinemas across Europe.

Their joint show at London’s O2 Arena later this month (Apr12) will be transmitted via a satellite feed to theatres in countries including Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, and Latvia.
Organisers will use state-of-the-art high definition cameras and 5.1 surround sound to recreate the full concert experience for fans in cinemas thousands of miles away.

Backstreet Boys star Howie Dorough says, “It’s so exciting to know that even though we weren’t able to bring our show to certain places in Europe our fans will still have the opportunity to experience it like they were there. We can’t wait for everyone to see the show!”

New Kids on the Block’s Jonathan Knight: "I Never Hid My Sexuality"

New Kids on the Block star Jonathan Knight  has spoken out following reports he was recently ‘outed’ as gay, insisting he has never hidden his sexuality.

The singer hit the headlines earlier this week (24Jan11) after 1980s pop star Tiffany revealed he was gay in a live U.S. TV interview, shocking fans who had no idea he was homosexual.
But Knight is adamant he wasn’t hurt by Tiffany’s ‘announcement’ – because he ‘came out’ to friends and family years ago.
In a post on the band’s official website, he writes, “To all my fans who have expressed concern: I have never been outed by anyone but myself. I did so almost twenty years ago. I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB! I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay. Apparently the prerequisite to being a gay public figure is to appear on the cover of a magazine with the caption, ‘I am gay’.
“I love living my life being open and honest, but at this time I choose not to discuss my private life any further! My fellow band members don’t discuss their private lives with their loved ones and I don’t feel that just because I am gay, I should have to discuss mine!”

Donnie Wahlberg will be working overtime in the run-up to his summer (11) tour with reunited boyband New Kids On The Block, because he refuses to take a break from his acting gig on new crime series Blue Bloods.

The singer/actor, 41, stars as Detective Danny Reagan on the cop show and the program, which premiered in September (10), has proved to be a critical success.

Wahlberg admits he’s keen to focus more on his screen career as he grows older – so he will be working double duty as he juggles his TV responsibilities with rehearsals for his band’s upcoming joint concerts with the Backstreet Boys.

He tells TV Guide magazine, “I made a strategic choice when I decided to do Blue Bloods to shift the balance to acting.

“(So) I’ll wrap Blue Bloods at 8pm, then go to a studio to start preparing the (NKOTB) show till 3 or 4am. I want to do it all now, while I still can!”
