Paul McCartney, Madonna join Justin Timberlake for SNL Skit

Paul McCartney, Madonna and Barry Gibb showed off their comedic chops this weekend by joining Justin Timberlake and funnyman Jimmy Fallon for a Christmas edition of Saturday Night Live.

Timberlake and Fallon kicked off Saturday’s live gig by performing a medley of songs dressed as a tube of wrapping paper and a gift bag respectively, as they parodied tracks such as Ludacris’ Roll Out (My Business), Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know and It’s Tricky by Run-D.M.C.

Fallon then delivered the opening monologue by showing off impressions of David Bowie, Bob Dylan and McCartney as he acted out his dream collaboration, blaming heavy New York traffic for preventing the rockers from appearing in person.

However, as he began to mimic the former Beatle, McCartney himself stepped out onstage, much to the crowd’s delight, and quipped, “I was (stuck in traffic) but then I took a Citi Bike (public bike-sharing system). Am I too late to sing a song?”

The unlikely duo then launched into a rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas as fake snow fell all around them.

McCartney’s unexpected appearance was just the first of many surprises – Madonna joined in a discussion about politics during spoof segment The Barry Gibb Talk Show, with Fallon sporting ’70s attire, a fake wig and fake facial hair to portray the only surviving Bee Gees star.

The Emotions hitmaker appeared to be in on the joke as he joined Timberlake and Fallon, who were both rocking vintage hair styles and suits, to close out the skit.

Even outgoing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg made time for a cameo during SNL’s Weekend Update to discuss his plans after stepping down from the post early next year.

Saturday Night Live will return to U.S. TV screens for a new episode on Jan. 18 when rapper/actor Drake will serve as guest host.

Boy George’s Rep Denies Fan Snub

A representative for Boy George has slammed reports the singer angrily swore at fans waiting for him outside a New York nightclub last week (24Oct13).

The Culture Club frontman played a Dj set at huge club Pacha in the city on Thursday, and was welcomed by a crowd of around 30 fans eager to catch a glimpse of their idol as he arrived at the venue.

However, fans were reportedly left disappointed when the Brit refused to sign autographs.

One witness tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “He emerged (from a car) with a bodyguard and when he saw 25 to 30 fans shivering in the cold wanting him to sign stuff, he exclaimed, ‘F**k this! I’m not signing or dealing with any of this!”

The star’s publicist has now blasted the claims, insisting he was simply rushing to get into the club as he was behind schedule.

The rep says, “This is not true… he was late for his set and needed to get into the club as quickly as possible to start… that’s the end of the story.”

Micky Dolenz Releases Live CD From B.B. Kings Blues Club

Micky Dolenz has just announced the release of MICKY DOLENZ LIVE AT B. B. KING’s, recorded last October 19 at the club’s outpost in NYC.

Introduced by Q104.3’s Jim Kerr, Micky and his solo band deliver a solid 23-song set to the sold-out crowd (which included a very enthusiastic Tony Danza front-and-center); from the astonishing Monkees-catalog: “She,” “Last Train To Clarksville,” “Daydream Believer,” “I’m A Believer,” to a sampling from his most recent solo album Remember (“Sugar, Sugar”) as well as such Dolenz favorites as “D. W. Washburn,” from the play Smokey Joe’s Café which he appeared in; and, a full-on version of The Beatles’ “Oh Darling” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze.”

There also an inspired duet with his band-mate, and sister Coco Dolenz, on “Blackbird.”

Adds Dolenz, “The first live show I remember doing was the Christmas show at my mom’s church. I was around four and I recited ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.’ I actually remember it because I was scared to death and it surely traumatized me deeply. The next live show was with my sister Coco; and, the venue was our living room. The last gig I did before The Monkees was at a cocktail lounge in a bowling alley. Then MonkeeBusiness and all of the insanity that ensued playing live in front of thousands of adoring fans and singing great classic hits. And, now, here I am LIVE AT B. B. King’s headlining. And, being supported by one of the best bands I have ever worked with. How cool is that?

Says producer Wayne Avers (and, Dolenz’s musical director), “The album came out great! It captures all the excitement of our live show; you can hear the crowd roar, as well as the high quality sound of a studio recording. Co-produced by John Billings and myself, we brought in a engineer to B. B. King’s , with a high tech digital recording rig, to fully capture exactly what was coming off the stage as well as the audience. No fancy studio tricks were needed; this truly represents what we do and sound like on stage.”

On Broadway: Disney’s Newsies Nichololas Lampiasi In The MP3 Experiement

Last Sunday Newsies’ Nicholas Lampiasi, participated in the MP3 Experiment 10 – created by the company Improv Everywhere. Thousands of people gathered at South Street Seaport to simultaneously listen to an MP3 and follow the instructions they were given on it.

They were told to “blend in” ahead of time so people NOT participating in the event would have no idea what was going.

They were given a list of certain items they needed to bring with them ahead of time, including bubbles, sunglasses, a dollar bill, a paper with their name on it and their high school yearbook quote, and something red.

They were asked to lay down, walk in slow motion, walk backwards in slow motion, go up to someone who wasn’t participating and give them a dollar bill, make a paper airplane and fly it, find someone who looks like them and take a picture with them, and, to blow bubbles.

According to reports, several thousand people participated in the event. Said ten-year old Nicholas, “It was a great event to have been a part of … very New York for sure.”

Does Lady Gaga Copy Lady Gaga?

Lady Gaga stepped out in London wearing a wild black hair dress which is something she’s totally done before. Back in 2010, the “Poker Face” singer wore this brown Chewbacca dress during a surprise performance at the Oak Room in New York City and last night in london, Gaga greeted her fans in similar outfit.
So what do you think, has Gaga run out of ideas?
