Nicole Kidman Will Press Charges Against Photographer That Mowed Her Down

Nicole Kidman was knocked down in the streets of New York this week whilst arriving back from the Calvin Klein show as the city hosts New York Fashion Week. The fashionista was minding her own business as she arrived back at her hotel, the Carlyle Hotel, when a freelance photographer came bombing down the pavement and almost had a head on collision with the Oscar-winner.

Although the incident turned out to not be so serious after all, Nicole was left infuriated by the photographer, named Carl Wu, and was apparently threatening to sue him for his recklessness. Speaking to TMZ, witnesses at the scene say that they saw Wu come hurtling down the pavement towards Kidman and seemed to step on his brakes at the last minute, which failed to bring him to a stop and so he was forced to dive off the moving bike, taking Kidman out along the way.

The Mac Wire’s New Female Artist Pick To Click: “The Lady” Jenn Bocian

“The
Lady” Jenn Bocian
is a classically trained Harrisburg, PA, native with a big
voice, sexy looks and is poising herself to go for the big time. Even though
she is not a major label artist, she recently was written about in both the New
York Post and Maxim Magazine, who cited that she not only had a great voice but
said she could carry off the “sexy schoolgirl” look better than
anyone this side of Britney Spears (her video for the single “Don’t Love
You” features her and some sexy dancers wearing school girls outfits). She can
sing jazz just as well as rock or pop, and is considered to have the true diva
range a la Jennifer Hudson or Mariah Carey. She recently knocked attendees off
their feet at the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, where she
performed her two singles as well as new material and met with both veteran
execs and up-and-comers in the music biz, and performed at a New York Fashion
Week suite at the trendy Essex Restaurant on the Lower East Side where she also
mingled with fashionistas and glitterati. She also performed to rave reviews at
New York’s famed Irving Plaza back on September 14th, 2011.

She
recently did some recording in NYC to follow up on her two 2011 singles
“Don’t Love You” and “Last” and set dates to start in April
for live shows that will have her entertaining US service men and women on
military bases throughout the country. She’ll be performing alongside the likes
of Sean Paul, Shaggy, Rayvon, The New York Funk Exchange, and others to be
named over the next 30 days. Her debut CD (simply titled The Lady Jenn
Bocian
) will have
a major release event scheduled to take place at the world-famous Yankee
Stadium, where she’ll be host to various entertainment industry representatives,
local city officials, and print/social media. Apparently, she likes to do things big!  We hear at themacwire.com have a
keen eye on “The Lady” and her escapades, and think that she might
just be giving that OTHER Lady named Gaga a run for her money!

Jackie Collins Is Back With A "Vengeance"!

Photos Above And Text By MAC WIRE Contributor Anne M. Raso

We were lucky enough to attend Jackie Collins’ recent bloggers/press event
during New York Fashion Week. She hosted 23 journos and bloggers in the Library
of the Hudson Hotel on West 58th Street. She not only “meeted and greeted” with
the party guests but she also did a reading from her newest book (which just
happens to be her 28th), Goddess Of Vengeance, just published by St. Martin’s Press. A special Lucky cocktail was
served (that’s one of Collins’ most famous heroines and the heroine of Goddess
Of Vengeance
, in case you haven’t followed her recently), and it was quite
potent–it consisted of Skyy Vodka, Cointreau, Cranberry Juice, Lychee Juice and
Champagne and was served in a martini glass)!
Jackie was a pleasure to speak
with–she took in a couple of Fashion Week Shows including Venexiana and hung
out with her British pal Barry Frost (who also lives in LA and was one of the
producers of What’s Love Got To Do With It). Barry asked questions of Jackie in the question-and-answer session after her reading just like the rest of us. She got questions ranging from what book she would most like to see made into a feature film to whether she would ever do a reality series (the answers being Poor Little  Bitch Girl and an adamant “no,” respectively).  Jackie signed books
for all the guests and we all walked home with a bag of Jackie Collin’s older
titles in paperback and all sorts of fun merchandise (like Lucky logo coffee
mugs and note pads).

Next up, the 73-year-old beauty tells us that she will be working on a
Lucky-themed cookbook and said she is looking for the ultimate meatball recipe. We
suggested that she try Donatella’s all-veal meatball the next time she was in
town (that’s our personal favorite and also the winner of many foodie magazine
awards).     Hope to see you in town again soon, Jackie. We love your tales not only
about writing your books but about when your husband Oscar owned the famous Ad
Lib club in London back in the 60s–a hangout for the Beatles and The Rolling
Stones, among other rock luminaries! Be sure to check out jackiecollins.com to
keep up with this literary luminary who has been on top of the woman’s
publishing field since 1968!
