21-year-old Charlotte Aitchison aka Charli XCX is pleased to announce that she’ll be supporting US rock trio Paramore on their upcoming UK arena headline tour in September, which will include two dates at London’s Wembley Arena. Unfortunately, this means that Charli has had to postpone her upcoming US September headline tour until October/November.
Charli commented: “I’m very happy to have been asked to support Paramore on their UK tour. I’ve never really done shows in the UK outside of London before so it’s going to be something different and kind of scary for me. Of course I am really, truly so so sorry to everyone who got tickets to my US shows, as now I will have to reschedule those dates and I hate the fact that I will have let lots of people down. It’s weird, I always feel strangely at home when I play shows in America and the fans I have out there are literally the best, most killer fans in the world. I’m upset that you guys are going to be disappointed and annoyed at me, as I really did have big things planned for this tour, so it’s very sad. I’m working really hard to reschedule the dates right now and all I can promise you is that the shows will be even bigger and better than anything I’ve ever done before.”

PARAMORE HAS PREMIERED THEIR NEW VIDEO FOR
“STILL INTO YOU”
FROM THE SELF-TITLED ALBUM
Watch it here!:
Fueled By Ramen recording group Paramore has unveiled early details of their hugely anticipated, self-titled new album. “PARAMORE” arrives everywhere on April 9th, 2013.
The Grammy-nominated band’s first all-new release in more than three years, “PARAMORE” marks the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2009’s RIAA gold-certified “brand new eyes.” The album – Paramore’s fourth full-length studio recording – was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Justin Meldal-Johnson, known for his work with such diverse artists as Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Tegan and Sara, and M83. The first single from “PARAMORE” is entitled “Now.” More information on the new album to be revealed soon.
Paramore –singer Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis, and guitarist Taylor York – first unveiled the news via a personal blog announcement at the band’s official website http://www.paramore.net. “The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends,” the band wrote. “It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us.” (full blog post – http://bit.ly/SACUMi)
The band will herald the release of “PARAMORE” with a much-anticipated Southeast Asian/Australian tour. The trek includes dates in Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, as well as a prominent role on Australia’s annual Soundwave festival tour. More touring news will be unveiled soon – please see http://www.paramore.net/tour for further updates and information.
Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams had mixed feelings about posing for the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine after spending years trying to avoid the spotlight at the start of her career.
The rocker hesitated before agreeing to be the publication’s cover girl because she hasn’t always felt comfortable embracing her sexy side.
But after donning a glamorous dress for her solo shoot, Williams insists she’s embracing her “powerful female” role.
In a post on the band’s blog, the star writes, “I wanna talk about the Cosmo cover… as much as I tell myself I don’t care and I wear whatever I want… there will always be those moments when I’m at the check out line at (U.S. retailer) Target and I see some gorgeous person on the cover of any ol (sic) rag… and I’m like ‘Ugh, is that how it’s gotta be!?’ only to realize that… next month, that girl on the cover is gonna be me. What a hypocrite right?!?!
“Noooo. Here’s the thing. My #1 (number one) goal when the band began was to make myself invisible… I’ve turned down a lot of magazine covers. I specifically remember turning down Blender mag when I turned 19. No one ever knew. It never made people focus on me any less… So this time I’m taking a different approach. All three of us in Paramore have our own roles. And finally I will accept mine. I’m going to be okay with being a ‘powerful female’. I’m going to use that role to make a difference.”
The singer admits the experience was liberating, and she hopes the cover will inspire her fans to feel good about themselves, too.
She adds, “I’m hoping that the more a magazine will take a chance on a girl like me, the more a girl will have a frickin’ chance in hell to be unique, powerful, strong in her weaknesses, confident in her flaws.”
The 53rd annual Grammy Awards keeps upping the ante. On Tuesday (February 8), producers announced a new slate of presenters for the show this Sunday night, including Miley Cyrus, Paramore, Neil Patrick Harris, John Legend, Seth Rogen and Kris Kristofferson.
Rugged singer/actor Kristofferson, a three-time Grammy winner himself, will be on hand to introduce a special performance from nominee and 2011 MusiCares Person of the Year Barbra Streisand. Kristofferson and Streisand were co-stars in the hugely popular 1976 remake “A Star Is Born.” The singer/actress, who performs live very infrequently, will likely sing a selection from her Love Is the Answer release, which is up for a Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album award.
Streisand will add some old-school glamour to an entertainment roster that leans heavily on the new stars of today, including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Drake and Rihanna, B.o.B, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monál;e, Lady Antebellum, and Justin Bieber with Usher and Jaden Smith.
Also performing at the Grammys are Eminem, Arcade Fire, Miranda Lambert, Muse, Cee Lo Green with Gwyneth Paltrow and the Jim Henson Company Puppets, and Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger with Raphael Saadiq in a special tribute to late soul icon Solomon Burke.
Rockers Paramore are moving on from the recent departure of the Farro brothers by starting work on a new album.
Josh Farro and his brother Zac, who founded the group with singer Hayley Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis in 2004, left the band earlier this month (Dec10), playing their last their show with the group in Orlando, Florida on 12 December (10).
Josh subsequently spoke out about the siblings’ decision to quit, accusing Williams of taking over and causing arguments. He also claimed working with the vocalist on the band’s last album, 2009’s Brand New Eyes, sparked their departure: “We fought her about how her lyrics misrepresented our band and what we stood for, but, in the end, she got her way.”
Williams has now confirmed the band is moving on from the line-up change by getting straight back to work on a new album – bassist Taylor York has been recording demos and the singer is all set to start writing lyrics.
And the frontwoman admits she is feeling positive about the band’s future.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, Williams writes, “Tonight (Taylor York) sent me the 1st official demo for me to write lyrics to. And I am so hopeful and motivated for the future!!”
