Paris Jackson’s suicide attempt was the result of her emotional needs not being met by her grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson, a family insider tells People magazine. Apparently trying to fill the void left by the 2009 death of her father Michael Jackson, the 15-year-old had turned to her estranged mother in recent months, but even a reconnection with Debbie Rowe didn’t help.
“Paris loves her grandmother but feels that Katherine can’t provide for her emotional needs. She and Katherine are close, but it just isn’t working for Paris. That’s why Paris has turned to Debbie Rowe,” the source explains. “There is something missing in Paris’s life. The family hasn’t really taken this serious.”
“She misses her father greatly,” the insider says of Paris. “She was the center of Michael’s world. And it’s all different now. She’s just one of many grandkids now.”
“It’s really sad. Paris is the girl who has everything, but the girl who has nothing. She’s so alone,” adds the source.
Meanwhile, news details about the teen’s suicide attempt on June 5 have emerged. Us Weekly magazine reports Paris tried to overdose on “20 Motrin” and cut herself with a knife. Apparently “freaked out” by her actions, Paris called out for help.
“I know Paris freaked out and regretted what she had done after she had done it,” an insider told Us Weekly magazine. “That’s when she cried for help. That saved her life.”

A spokeswoman for German TV station ZDF told People.com on Thursday that the Wettan, dass…? production team is in contact with Prince Michael’s management team and his trip to Europe has been cancelled.
Silke Blomer said, “Under these circumstances, we perfectly understand that Prince Michael prefers to stay close to his family. We wish Paris the strength and the power to recover soon.”
Paramedics responded to an emergency call regarding “a possible overdose”, but Paris is now believed to be in a stable condition.
As Paris Jackson remains hospitalized in Los Angeles, new details about her suicide attempt have emerged. Another source tells Us Weekly Paris has battled depression ever since her father Michael Jackson died in June 2009. “She has major depression issues, a lot of it stemming from her dad’s death. It’s very real and very sad. She has been extremely depressed and not been able to sleep lately, staying up all night,” the source explains.
Yesterday, the teen’s grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson insisted that Paris is “physically fine.” “Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family’s privacy,” Katherine said in a statement.
Michael Jackson died of a drug overdose on June 25, 2009. In addition Paris, he left behind sons Prince Michael, 16, and Blanket, 11.
Hoping this isn’t true…
Paris Jackson, teen daughter of the late Michael Jackson, is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after an apparent suicide attempt early Wednesday morning at her family’s Calabasas home. The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirms they transported one person from the home to a nearby hospital for a possible drug overdose. The 911 call came in at 1:27 a.m.
Family sources say Paris, 15, was angry about being forbidden to go to a Marilyn Manson concert on June 6. Her estranged mother, Debbie Rowe, told ET that Paris has had “a lot going on [lately]” and slit her wrists early this morning. Paris’ grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson insists that Paris is “physically fine.”
“Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family’s privacy,” she said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
No other details about the teen’s condition were immediately available.
Paris’ last tweet before her hospitalization indicates problems. She wrote this line from the Beatles song ‘Yesterday,’ “Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they’re here to stay.”
Paris and her siblings Prince and Blanket must face the fourth anniversary of their father’s death on June 25.
Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine has been suspended as the guardian of the King of Pop’s three children following the controversy surrounding her recent trip to Arizona.
Katherine Jackson sparked concerns about her whereabouts and well-being following conflicting reports about her location.
The 82-year-old’s nephew, Trent Jackson, allegedly filed a missing persons report on July 21st after Katherine’s grandchildren were unable to contact her as she rested under doctors’ orders with her daughter Rebbie in Arizona, but her son Jermaine spoke out on July 22nd and claimed his mother was “fine”, a report which has since been backed up by police following a visit to Rebbie’s home.
However, Katherine’s sudden disappearance has raised questions over her ability to properly care for Michael’s kids Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket. So their cousin TJ – Tito Jackson’s son – headed to court for an emergency guardianship hearing in a bid to temporarily replace his grandmother.
During the court appearance, TJ Jackson choked back tears as he recalled a strange phone conversation with Katherine.
He said: “I’ve never heard my grandmother talk like that. She wasn’t sharp. The pauses, choice of vocabulary… she has not used certain phrases like that before.”
Judge Mitch Beckloff then approved TJ’s petition and named him temporary guardian, stating he had reason to believe his grandmother may be “prevented from acting as a guardian because of the acts of third parties.”
Katherine’s lawyer Sandra Ribera says, “We have reason to believe that Mrs. Jackson has been held against her will.”
Michael Jackson’s mom Katherine is at the center of a police investigation after she was reported missing.
A missing persons report is said to have been filed in California on July 21st after members of the Jackson clan were unable to get in touch with the matriarch for a week.
Michael’s daughter Paris took to Twitter to ask her followers to contact authorities with any sightings of Katherine.
She tweeted, “Yes, my grandmother is missing. I haven’t spoken with her in a week… I want her home now. If anybody sees my grandmother, please call the authorities or this… security number. Thank you so much.”
Now a statement has been issued by Katherine’s attorney, Sandra Ribera, alleging the matriarch vanished after boarding a flight to see her sons in concert in New Mexico, Arizona, and Las Vegas.
Ribera writes, “When Michael’s children last saw their grandmother on July 15, 2012, she was in great health physically as well as mentally.”
“Prince, Paris, and Blanket are the light of Katherine Jackson’s life, as she is to those children. Out of concern for Mrs. Jackson’s well-being and in an effort to ensure her being safely reunited with her grandchildren as soon as possible, a report was filed on Saturday with the Sheriff’s Department who will be investigating this matter.”
However, Jermaine Jackson assured followers on the same day that the 82-year-old Katherine is “fine” and “resting up” in Arizona.
He wrote on Twitter, “I want to reassure everyone… that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not us… This is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctor’s advice. Period.”
News of Katherine’s disappearance comes just days after Jackson siblings including Jermaine, Randy and Janet fired off a letter contesting the authenticity of their superstar brother Michael’s will.
The Jacksons accused John Branca and John McClain of faking legal documents prior to the singer’s death in June 2009, and Katherine is believed to be in the middle of the dispute over the family’s financial affairs.
Branca and McClain subsequently issued a statement slamming the allegation that Jackson’s will was not authentic as “false and defamatory.”
