Mike Sorrentino Admits To Prescription Drug Problem

After denying he was seeking treatment for addiction problems, Jersey Shore star Mike Sorrentino has admitted he is getting help for a “prescription medication problem.”

“I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion,” Sorrentino wrote on his official website. “I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys.”

In a statement released earlier this week, Sorrentino’s rep said the reality star was in a facility to rest. “He has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule,” his rep said.

Sorrentino, aka The Situation, will soon begin filming the sixth season of Jersey Shore with castmates JWoww, Snooki, Vinny, Ronnie, Pauly D, Sammi Sweetheart and Deena Cortese. “The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the ‘Shore’ take off in exciting new directions,” MTV says of the new season. “While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same.”

Pauly D Doesn’t Want Shore Romance

Pauly D will never fall in love on ‘Jersey Shore’.
Although the DJ had a brief romance with housemate JWoww he was put off dating girls on the MTV show after witnessing his friend Ronnie struggle to cope with volatile Sam.
He explained to BANG Showbiz: “Look at Ronnie and Sam, never fall in love in ‘Jersey Shore’, that’s what Ronnie said to us, he should have taken his own advice. That was the best advice he ever gave me. He and Sam are on and off all the time, no one knows what’s going on with them.
“I love everybody in the house, we’re all like really good friends now and they’re almost like sisters at this point so I love living with them. We joke around and have fun but as far as anything more than that I don’t think so, we’ll just keep it on the friend level. At the moment I’m happy to just be single and I’m enjoying having a good time.”
Pauly D’s fellow housemate and budding actor Vinny has hooked up with both the departed Angelina and castmate Snooki but he has no plans for a long-term romance with any of the ‘Jersey Shore’ girls.
He said: “When you live in a shore house things like [Snooki coming on to him] happens, you love these people but at the same time things do start to get weird, you’ve got a lot of drunken nights and Snooki’s not actually my family so she does sometimes end up in my bed just because you want that companionship. But it’s nothing serious.”
The new series of ‘Jersey Shore’ airs every Tuesday at 10pm on MTV.

Jersey Shore Star Pauly D Gets a Spinoff Show

Jersey Shore star Pauly D has reportedly accepted a deal for his own spinoff show. A source tells RadarOnline.com the show will feature Pauly D’s deejay jobs.

“They have already chosen a name and of course it will be deejay-related,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “It’s another MTV reality show and he’ll be DJ-ing and of course doing things his fans love to watch.”

Filming reportedly begins later this month. Pauly D, whose real name is Paul DelVecchio, will continue to star on Jersey Shore.

Neither MTV nor DelVecchio has commented. Pauly D is not the only Jersey Shore star to land a new TV gig. The Situation, whose real name is Michael Sorrentino, is currently competing on Dancing with the Stars.
