British soul star Adele returned to the stage on Thursday (July 7) for the first time since a throat illness forced the singer to scrap her North American tour.

The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker fell sick withlaryngitis in May (11) and the condition caused such problems for her vocal cords she was advised by doctors to temporarily refrain from performing to allow her throat to heal.
She was given the all-clear to sing again earlier this week (begs04Jul11) and Adele proved she was back on top form on Thursday as she hit the stage at London’s fabled Roundhouse venue as part of the iTunes Festival.
During her live comeback, Adele performed a mix of tracks from her hit albums 19 and 21, and also treated fans to a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s hit I Can’t Make You Love Me.
