Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong released a statement Tuesday on the apparent suicide of her estranged husband Russell Armstrong.
“Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded. She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter. Her thoughts and prayers are also with Russell’s 11 and 13-year-old sons,” her rep said.
Russell’s body was found Monday night in his Los Angeles home. “I can confirm that Mr. Armstrong was found dead from an apparent hanging in a residence on Mulholland Drive,” an LAPD spokesman told People magazine.
The coroner’s office said an official cause of death will be determined after Armstrong’s body is examined. Russell was 47.
The Armstrong’s marital problems were chronicled on the first season of Real Housewives. Taylor, 40, filed for divorce in July, claiming Russell was physically and verbally abusive. She told People magazine Russell would shove her, pull her hair and throw objects at her during heated arguments.
