Steven Tyler And Joe Perry Inducted Into Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame

Aerosmith stars Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and R&B singer John Legend inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame on Saturday night (22Jun13).

The musicians were all honoured during a star-studded concert at the Los Angeles venue to mark the beginning of the summer concert season.

Actress Angela Basset hosted the event, and presenters included Glee star Darren Criss and funnyman Arsenio Hall, while music legend Stevie Wonder was on hand to induct Legend.

In a subsequent post on the Green Light hitmaker wrote, “Stevie Wonder inducted me into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame tonight. Feeling very grateful.”

Veteran actor Peter Fonda inducted the Aerosmith stars, and Perry tweeted about the honour, “Thanks to the amazing Peter Fonda for our great introduction introduction into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of
Fame… Thanks to all who congratulated us tonight on our induction into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
Jazz singer Patti Austin was also among the inductees.

The event raised money for the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra and the organisation’s music education program for youngsters.

Stars Turn Out To Honor Dick Clark

Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Fergie, and Paul Stanley were among the stars who turned out to honor TV legend Dick Clark at memorial service at his home.

The beloved entertainer passed away last month at the age of 82 after suffering a heart attack, and a host of famous faces turned out to remember Clark at a private tribute in the grounds of his Malibu mansion last Thursday.

More than three hundred friends and colleagues attended the service, including KISS bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Reba McEntire, Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel, Marie Osmond, Paul Anka and Debbie Gibson.

Talk show legend Larry King gave a eulogy at the service, while Wonder and Anka sang for the crowd.

Osmond, who also spoke at the memorial, shared her experience with fans by posting a picture of herself posing with Lionel Richie and singer Chubby Checker on, writing, “So grateful to be able to celebrate Dick Clark’s life and say a few words at his memorial service this afternoon. Especially amazing to reconnect with other Dick Clark protégées like Chubby and Lionel. He did great work on this earth!”

Simmons also wrote about the event online and posted a picture of himself and Stanley posing in their KISS costumes with Clark.

He writes, “The family of Dick Clark invited us to attend the Dick Clark Memorial. He was a good man. Always offered a kind word. The event was kept a secret, and no cameras were allowed… The powerful and attractive Paul Stanley and his beautiful wife Erin were also there. Larry King got up to say a few words, as did Marie Osmond… and we saw Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons wishing everyone well.

“We walked over to a wall where artists had signed photos of themselves posing with Dick Clark. There were about 30 photos. You would recognize every single one of them. Spanning decades. And there, up towards the top, was a photo of Dick with Paul and myself. We were blessed to have known him. I have learned humility from a man who never wavered from offering a kind word.”

Mel Gibson Tried To Help Whitney Houston

A new report says Mel Gibson reached out to Whitney Houston to help the singer overcome her personal issues at the height of her drug troubles.

The Braveheart star previously came to the aid of Britney Spears following her public meltdown in 2008 and offered up his estate in Costa Rica as a refuge for the pop star to recover from her struggles away from the spotlight.

Now reports Gibson also attempted to come to the rescue of Houston while she battled an addiction to cocaine, marijuana and other drugs in the early 2000s.

Website editors claim the actor visited Houston and spent time with her to help her beat her drug demons, and his efforts have landed him an invitation to attend the singer’s private memorial service on Saturday.

However, Gibson will not be able to join reported guests Kevin Costner, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder at the funeral in Newark, New Jersey due to family plans.

Houston died last weekend. Her cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology results.

The singer will be laid to rest on Sunday, a day after her funeral.
