Kate Middleton In Labor At St. Mary’s Hospital, Labor Is “Progressing Normally”

The wait for the royal baby is almost over! Kensington Palace confirmed Kate Middleton checked into St. Mary’s Hospital in London shortly before 6 o’clock this morning after her labor began naturally. Middleton and Prince William were reportedly accompanied to the hospital by a security team. They made their way to the Lindo Wing through the Cambridge entrance, which is the same entrance Prince Diana used when she arrived at St. Mary’s to give birth to Prince William in the Lindo Wing in 1982.

“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted this morning to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “The Duchess traveled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”

The Lindo Wing staff said they are “exceptionally proud that this historic moment is happening here.”

Middleton’s labor is said to be “progressing normally.” Once she delivers the baby, a written declaration revealing the baby’s gender, weight and time of birth will be posted on an easel outside Buckingham Palace. That information will also be released electronically.

Kate Middleton Will Skip Appearance At The Hobbit Premiere

Royal engagements are taking the back seat for pregnant Kate Middleton. The 30-year-old, who was hospitalized for acute morning sickness last week, will skip her appearance with Prince William at Wednesday’s premiere of The Hobbit to continue resting at home.

“The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend The Hobbit Premiere tomorrow evening and will continue to rest privately,” a St. James Palace rep said, adding that Prince William “will attend as planned.”

Middleton’s pregnancy was announced last Monday after she was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital for treatment of acute morning sickness, also known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). The condition can cause fainting, lightheadedness, weight loss, vomiting and acute nausea. Middleton returned to Kensington Palace on Thursday.

On Sunday, Prince William canceled his appearance at the British Military Tournament to care for Middleton as she suffered another bout of HG. The following day, a royal rep said the palace will not continue to give the public updates on Middleton’s condition.

“Until further notice, to allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy, we do not intend to offer regular condition checks or advise of routine developments,” the rep said.

Kate Middleton Looks Regal in Nottingham

Kate Middleton looked gorgeous in a regal outfit as she arrived at Nottingham train station for the latest leg of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee tour. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a blue tweed Missoni coat dress and navy cocktail hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan. Her outfit, completed with sparkling earrings, navy shoes and a quilted  black clutch bag, echoed the Queen’s turquoise and silver outfit.

And have we seen her regal outfit somewhere before when she visited the Fortnum and Mason Store in London earlier this year?
