Breakout star Bonnie McKee, who has co-written No. 1 hits for Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Taio Cruz, has watched her solo career heat up to a full boil ever since she unleashed a viral video for her debut single “American Girl” — an anthemic pop tune that showcases her powerhouse voice, knack for big choruses, and nostalgia-tinged lyrical point of view. The viral video (which can be seen here) is packed with celebrity cameos by Perry, Tommy Lee, KISS, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Carly Rae Jepsen, Joan Rivers and many others lip-synching along to the song. The star-studded clip, which has seen over one million views, has led to a wave of press attention, with several outlets calling “American Girl,” which is climbing the Top 40 radio chart, the “Song of the Summer.” McKee will perform the song on Good Morning America on August 15th. In addition, McKee has debuted the official video for “American Girl” on VEVO this week already pulling in over a million views.
Motley Crue are planning several sets for their upcoming Las Vegas residency to ensure fans who attend multiple gigs see different shows.
Rockers Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars will appear live at the city’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for a three-week stint, kicking off on 3 February (12).
The concerts are expected to be a sell-out, and Lee and his bandmates are already hard at work on the running order and special effects.
He tells Loudwire.com, “We’ll have to switch up the set a lot since we’ll be doing several shows in a row, we’ll have have to change things up because on the weekend people might come (to) see us a few times.
“Some maniacs that I know will probably come every night, so we’ve already talked about making some different portions of the show that will require a lot of change; that’s probably going to happen, I’d imagine.”
