Complaints After Lady Gaga’s ‘X Factor’ Performance

Lady Gaga’s latest provocative performance on British talent show The X Factor had sparked a slew of complaints.

Officials at TV watchdog agency Ofcom have revealed they received more than 100 complaints from viewers after the pop star stripped to her underwear for a raunchy routine on the show on Sunday night – at the height of family viewing.

Parents have urged the authorities to take action against network bosses at ITV for allowing her to shock and stun in flesh-colored pants and a bra decorated with shells, similar to the outfit she wore onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, while children were watching.

Another 60 viewers have complained directly to ITV about Gaga’s provocative performance.

In a statement released on Monday, ITV bosses said, “We do not believe Lady Gaga’s performance was inappropriate for the family audience of the show, which has an established tradition of performances from the biggest music stars. She’s well known for her highly individual style.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Ofcom adds, “We will assess all the complaints received on this issue before deciding whether to investigate.”

The TV set ended a racy few days for Gaga, who stripped down to her bra and panties for a gig at a sex club in Berlin, Germany on Thursday and then bared all after stepping out of a flowing white dress during a surprise performance at a London gay club on Saturday.

Ozzy Osbourne Starts House Fire Cooking Bacon

Ozzy Osbourne almost set fire to his home when frying bacon this week.

The 64-year-old Black Sabbath rocker tried to make a breakfast sandwich at his Beverly Hills, California, mansion on Wednesday and nearly burned down the property for a second time this year.

Supposedly Ozzy was too dazed to pay full attention while cooking.

‘Ozzy has just got back from four months abroad on tour, and was still a little jet-lagged and disorientated,’ a source told British newspaper The Mirror.

‘Shortly before bedtime, he went to make himself a little snack. Unfortunately, when frying the bacon, he managed to set light to the pan and triggered the smoke alarm.’

His wife Sharon was in the UK filming The X Factor at the time and she took to Twitter to lament over the accident immediately after it happened: ‘I’m in London, @OfficialOzzy is in LA making a bacon sandwich last night and the fire brigade ended up at our house!!’

But luckily emergency authorities were on the scene quickly to assist.

‘Because the Osbournes’ alarm system is so advanced, and Ozzy has form for this kind of thing, an alert was immediately sent to the LAFD ‘ and officers were dispatched,’ the source detailed.

‘Ozzy was mortified when he realised the fuss he’d caused and apologised profusely to the fire crew. He has promised to be more careful, and less gung ho, in future.’

Ozzy and Sharon suffered another fire scare in January.

After the couple fell asleep before extinguishing a candle which exploded in its glass vase and sparked a small fire in their living room, Ozzy singed his hair and injured his hand while trying to put out the blaze.

Authorities arrived to rescue the couple in time and Sharon, 60, told TMZ shortly after the accident she would be banning candles from the home.

"I Just Can’t Do That," Simon Cowell Rules Out American Idol Comeback

Reality TV talent show boss Simon Cowell has ruled out ever returning to American Idol, revealing at the press conference for the new season of the X Factor USA that he wouldn’t be able to go back to the show.

The media mogul, whose private life has been the centre of attention ever since it was reported that he is going to be a dad, is quoted by E! News as saying:

“I can’t imagine either scenario! I can’t. I just can’t do that. No. Somebody well-known once said to me, ‘Know when to leave the fair.’

“And this [X Factor] is a new generation type of show. It’s got to build. And most importantly, if you make great TV shows, people will watch them. I feel reallycomfortable with the girls and I think this is going to be the best show.”

The media mogul managed to dodge questions about the allegations that he is to become a dad, and also spoke to press about some of the changes that have been made to the season this year which includes Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio on the panel who replaced Britney Spears and L.A. Reid.

Revealing that the prize money  for the X Factor USA has decreased from $5 million to $1 million, Simon was keen to insist that the winner of the show this year will still land a recording contract with Sony and will still be “a number one priority”.

Speaking at the Television Critic’s Association event, TV Line reported the media mogul who managed to dodge questions about the rumours of fatherhood, saying:

“[The winner will receive] $1million, still get a recording contract with Sony and become a number one priority.”

Speaking about what the production of the show will look like this season, Rob Wade, executive producer commented to ETOnline:

“We love production and don’t want to lost production on the show, but it’s something you’ll see gradually build up over the weeks.

“This way the contestants’ journey to being – and looking like – a superstar will happen slowly over the weeks now.”

The new season of the show which sees Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio appear as judges on the show alongside returning judge Demi Lovato and Simon, will no longer feature boot camp or the judges house round. Instead, the judges will discuss the acts until the correct amount is in each category, according to TV Line.

Britney Spears Wants To Add A Daughter To Her Brood

Britney Spears loves having two boys, but the pop star says she wants to add a girl to her brood one day. Speaking to Extra host Mario Lopez, who expressed his desire for a son with pregnant wife Courtney Maza, Spears revealed she would love to have a daughter.

“Oh, you do want a girl! So later on, maybe a little girl?” asked Lopez.

“Yes!” Spears, 31, replied.

As for her sons Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6, Spears says it looks like they may break into the entertainment business. “They do like attention, so I think they would probably be good in the limelight,” she said. “We’re taking baby steps right now as far as agencies and stuff go, but they’re little comedians, so we’ll see.”

Up next for the former X Factor judge is a new album produced by will.i.am. “[Will] is so talented. He keeps it so fresh and so interesting,” she added. “We’ve done like two songs so far, and we have so much fun in the studio.”

Spears reportedly started dating Virginia native David Lucado in March. The romance came about two months after she called off her engagement to longtime love Jason Trawick. She has not opened up about Lucado.

Britney Spears Confirms She Is Quitting The X Factor

Britney Spears has officially left The X Factor. The pop star announced her decision to not return to the show on Friday. Spears said she plans to return to the recording studio.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio,” she said in a statement. “Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

The statement came just one day after an insider told People magazine Spears had decided to leave. “She has made the decision that she won’t be returning,” the source told People. “She wants to concentrate on her music.”

Spears and former Disney star Demi Lovato joined Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid at the judge’s table for season 2 after the lukewarm response to season 1 prompted Cowell to axe original judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Although Spears’ performance as a judge received mixed reviews, her contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar made it to the final 3. Sonenclar finished in second place, losing the $5 million recording contract to Reid’s contestant Tate Stevens. Cowell’s band Fifth Harmony took third place.

There has been no word on whether Lovato will return for another season. Reid announced his departure last month. “I have decided that I will not return to The X Factor next year,” the Epic Records CEO told Access Hollywood. “I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected.”

Britney Spears Out at The X Factor, is Demi Lovato Next?

Demi Lovato is now the only female judge left standing on “The X Factor.”

According to US Weekly  producers of the reality competition show have decided to give Britney Spears the ax.

“Britney will get the boot,” an insider told the magazine.

The “producers wanted her for the long haul,” the source told the magazine, but the agreement “isn’t working.”

With a reported $15 million payout for her role as judge and mentor on the show, the show’s creator Simon Cowell was expecting more from the pop diva.

“He wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney,” a different source told US Weekly. “They paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps.”

With Spears on the outs and LA Reid’s surprising announcement a few weeks that he too would be leaving the show, on his own accord, at the end of this season the next logical question is, where does that leave Demi Lovato?

Courtney Zito, who writes and direct her own web-based comedy series, Hollywood Girl, may have landed a soon-to-be music hit on her hands. Dominick DiPietrantonio’s “Only One For Me” has been running on the show for the past month, creating a buzz within the industry. Reportedly, producers from both The Voice and X Factor have been in touch with his management.

The show scripted by Zito is based on her real life experiences (both comic and blundering) in Los Angeles, in the form of the fledging character Quinn Monroe. A self-proclaimed cliché (aspiring actress by day and waitress by night), Quinn feels her dreams of silver screen stardom actualizing as a waking nightmare of never-ending obstacles and roadblocks. Broke, tired, confused and, constantly tripping over her mark, she’s literally bruised, at times self-deprecating, but delightfully determined and never defeated. With life, heart, spirit and the carefree, fun-loving support of her three best friends, Quinn looks past the setbacks and black-and-blues to see her shining star on the walk of fame, which to her isn’t too far ahead. She is determined to conquer Hollywood, but the road to stardom is full of missteps. “Two steps forward and ten steps back,” like the show’s original theme song says, “She’s there for life: She’s a Hollywood Girl,” says Zito.

Adds Dominick, “I found the show quite by accident, but immediately loved it. To tell you the truth, I came up with several possible songs for them and ultimately went with “Only One For Me.”

The X Factor Crowns A Winner: Tate Stevens Scores Recording Contract

The second season of The X Factor came to a close Thursday night with 37-year-old Tate Stevens scoring the $5 million recording contract over Carly Rose Sonenclar and the group Fifth Harmony.

“First and foremost I got to thank the man upstairs for taking care of me, my family, all the country music fans – God bless you. Thank you so much for all the votes. This is the best day of my life,” the Missouri native said after the results were revealed.

Stevens’ mentor L.A. Reid praised his work. “You deserve this. I’m proud to work with you. I think you represent The X Factor really, really well. So on behalf of Simon and myself and all the judges, congratulations,” he said.

Sonenclar, who was Britney Spears’ contestant, took second place. Fifth Harmony, mentored by Cowell, landed in third.

After the show, Stevens said it will “take a while” to get used to his new life. “I think it’s going to take a while. I think it’s going to take a while to sink in and really get the magnitude of what happened tonight. This is huge,” he said.

Stevens is not sure how he will celebrate with his wife and two children. “We have the rest of our lives to celebrate this! [My family] sacrificed a lot for me to even do this, which means a ton … it’s very amazing,” he added.
